[RESOLU] metacity super lent au démarrage

Bonjour à tous,
lors du démarrage d'ubuntu, les gestionnaire metacity met environ 5 minutes à se charger (sur le splash screen) et une fois gnome lancé, la manipulation des fenêtres est fastidieuse (déplacements, fermeture/ouverture lents).

La seule manipulation que j'ai faite avant que cela n'arrive a été d'"enregistrer la configuration actuelle" lors d'un reboot (sur la fenetre de cloture de session) !!...


Si quelqu'un, par ici, y connait quelque chose...

Ben... je sais pas mais tout dépend de ta config... Forcément si t'as un 200Mhz avec 64Mo de ram...

=> besoin de connaitre ta config pour savoir si c'est normal

Ben oui, ça c'est pas faux...


J'ai un PIV 3Ghz
1Go DDRAM 300
et une ATI RADEON 128Pro
(alors quand même)

(avec une ubuntu Hoary)

Et jusqu'à présent, tout marchait bien, voire mieux (que bien).

Donc, c'est pas normal big_smile

Tu sais faire un top dans un terminal une fois sous gnome? Et nous donner le résultat?

Ce que tu peux essayer = créer un utilisateur et redémarrer sur celui-ci pour voir si c'est toujours aussi lent. Si ce n'est pas le cas, c'est que tes préférences posent problème... supprime .metacity dans ton /home

voilà c'est tout ce que je sais dire...

bien évidemment, là, je ne suis pas en face de mon ordi, vu que je suis au boulot hmm

donc, je ferai un tout ça en rentrant ce soir, mais je crois que tu m'as donné l'indice qu'il me fallait, à savoir l'emplacement des préférences de metacity (que je cherche depuis hier) !

A ce propos, question subsidiaire:
Comment faire pour rechercher des fichiers, via nautilus, même dans les dossiers dont l'utilisateur n'a pas les droits ?
(chaque fois que je lance une recherche, elle me retourne un message d'erreur concernant les dossiers appartenant au super-utilisateur, comme quoi ils sont inaccessible (à peu de choses près), blablabla...)

Bon, à première vue (mais tu n'as pas mis le titre des colonnes de top, ce qui ne facilite pas la tâche, je te l'avoue), rien ne bouffe exagérémment de cpu, ni de mémoire.

Regarde ce que tu as dans ~/.xsession-errors pour voir si il n'y a pas un problème qqconque.

Relance aussi le top en activant nautilus (et en donnant le titre des colonnes wink )

Tu peux toujours essayer:

killall nautilus

et relancer la session, pour voir.

Ce qui me laisse à penser que:

- soit tu as environ 15 clés usbs ou disque durs externes connectés à ton pc au démarrage
- soit il y a un problème... As-tu du trifouiller dans le fstab ou alors avec hal, ou encore as-tu du installer du nouveau matos usb récemment? que donne un lsusb?

Bref, c'est là que ça m'a pas l'air catholique.

lsusb ne me retourne que des 0, rien n'est connecté actuellement en usb, j'ai, occasionnellement un appareil photo que je connecte de tps en tps... et un dd externe (en firewire) qui n'est pas constamment allumé...

Quant au fstab, il y a bien longtemps que je l'ai modifié, pour monter un dd NTFS au démarrage, mais ça a toujours fonctionné....

skype est pourtant bien installé et fonctionne normalement quand je le lance à partir du menu.

Un autre truc, dans le xsession-errors, il y a une ligne qui me dit que le gestionnaire de fenêtres cherche toujours à charger une certaine session, qui doit correspondre à celle du jour où j'ai effectivement demandé d'enregistrer la configuration en quittant.
Y a t-il moyen, quelque part, de lui demander d'arreter de chercher ce fichier de session ( que j'ai effacé en supprimant les préférences de metacity) ?

Bon bon.... Ben je crois donc que toutes ces lignes ou HAL détecte des trucs en usb posent problème... surtout que rien ne te bouffe spécialement du cpu...

=> essaie de désinstaller complètement puis réinstaller HAL...

Je sais pas plus t'aider... je ne comprends pas trop ou pourrait être le problème...

Oui, tu sauves ta nouvelle session...

Quand tu quittes, logiquement, tu peux cocher une case, si tu as activé cette option. Pour l'activer:
Système-> préférences-> Sessions

J'ai réinstallé HAL, sauvé une session propre, désinstallé skype (au passage) et le redémarrage s'est passé sans problème, aussi rapidement qu'avant !
