Je me posais justement la question de mon éventuel besoin de CG dédiée, normalement d'ici fin août je devrais pouvoir essayer l'asus d'une connaissance qui en est pas équipé. Histoire de voir jusqu'où ça peut aller.

@Beamboomer : A moins de faire du montage vidéo bourrin ou de jouer à de gros jeux (ce qui sous Linux est un peu compliqué pour le moment), la carte Intel suffit pour la plupart des usages, lecture HD en 4K comprise.En fonction de ton budget, il a le UX31E (ici pour 940€, je sais pas si c'est le moins cher), mais aussi son successeur, le UX31A, qui est un peu plus cher (1150€ ici).

Bon c'est fait et je suis toujours dans le même cas...
J'utilisais xorg-edgers pour essayer de faire marcher bumblebee. là je l'ai desinstaller car javais plein d'erreur...
du coup Je suis donc revenu a un noyau plus vieux...

J'ai aussi fait:

stef@Stef-Asus:~$ sudo apt-get remove --purge bumblebee bumblebee-nvidia nvidia-current

et ensuite

sudo apt-get install bumblebee

Si je change nvidia-current par nvidia, bumblebee ne démare pas...

Je n'ai testé que nvidia.

Ok, actuellement dans quel état est ton système ? Est-ce que le réinstaller pour repartir sur une base propre est envisageable ?

Si oui, commences par cela, n'ajoutes que le PPA pour les driver nVidia comme indiqué sur la page de Bumblebee, et installes celui-ci.
Ensuite, tu testes optirun. Tu copies ici le Xorg.8.log et les lignes ajoutées dans syslog comme d'hab.

Si non, on va revenir sur xorg-edgers, normalement du devrais récupérer le dernier noyau disponible automatiquement. Aussi, tu dois faire les deux changements indiqués dans /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf afin de pouvoir utiliser le dernier driver nvidia.

Bonjour, j'ai moi aussi des problèmes avec bumblebee.
J'ai un leclevo en i7 ivy b avec une gt 650m . le tout avec cubuntu 12.xx J'ai eut tout une série de messages d'erreur en manipulant les choses et je ne sais plus trop ou j'en suis.

Bien, contenu du fichier /var/log/Xorg.8.log, et également si tu peux, la différence (=lignes ajoutées) dans /var/log/syslog entre avant et après un test d'optirun.

oui. en fait, c'est un ordi qui a trois jours et ils m'ont installer cubuntu avec un bureau switchable entre unity gnome, cinnamon.
