Ok, j'ai trouvé la réponse. Elle se trouve dans la bible des thinkpad : http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ATI_Mobility_Radeon_7500

donc pas de driver proprio pour cette carte.
Sinon, les libres marche bien à condition d'utiliser le driver 'radeon'. On retrouve des performances identiques à celle sous Win.

Bonjour,

nouveau dans le monde Linux, j'ai choisis Ubuntu pour mes besoins.
J'utilise une carte ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, et après installation tout fonctionne bien à un détail prêt.
La résolution 1680x1050 ne s'affiche pas correctement, l'image est baveuse, et le tableau de bord de Gnome situé en haut est en dehors de la zone d'affichage.
J'imagine que c'est une option qui manque dans ma configuration, cependant, je n'ai pas encore trouvé laquelle.

J'ai essayé de spécifier les valeurs HoryzSync, VertRefresh, mais cela semble sans effet.
J'ai également essayé de modifier les "Modelines" en utilisant cette page mais si l'affichage change bel et bien, je n'ai jamais de bon résultat (la zone d'affichage c'est vu tronquée en largeur, ou parfois sur le bas au lieu du haut).

J'ai également essayé le driver propriétaire, et j'obtiens un affichage très propre, mais cela impose d'utiliser XGL, et si j'ai bien compris, ce n'est pas l'idéal.

Est ce que l'un d'entre vous pourrais me donner une piste à suivre pour résoudre le problème avec le driver libre ? Ou me conseillez vous d'utiliser le drivers propriétaire et d'étudier les tuto pour mettre XGL en place ?

j'ai solutionné ce problème en modifiant la reso sans indiquer de fréquence et j'ai rajouter les modelines et ça à rouler.je debute mais je pense que si tu poste ton xorg.conf on t'aidera un peu plus!

dans la section monitor je trouve qu'il y a beaucoup de modeline et beaucoup d'option dans la section device. Voilà le miens, ubuntu alternate 7.04 avec xgl et compiz par defaut.J'ai juste rajouté "gnome compiz manager" pour le cube et j'ai modifié la reso et les modeline dans mon xorg.

J'ai toujours ma 9600Pro et j'ai bien mis les drivers libres mais il prend sur le CPU et pas sur le GPU. Comment faire pour lui dire que ma carte graphique n'est pas handicapée et qu'il n'a pas besoin d'utiliser le processeur ?

Pourtant ma carte graphique est notée comme étant supportée par les drivers libres ...

salut,

j'ai des petits soucis pour activer ces foutus drivers libres roll
En effet, je suis le mode op' à la lettre (j'ai bien viré fglrx & cie)  et quand je redémarre mon ordi, il affiche correctement la fenêtre de progression mais quand il doit arriver à la fenêtre de loggue il s'éteint, come si il était en veille : écran noir, plus moyen de le récupérer...si quelqu'un pouvait m'aider ça serait super cool parce que depuis que je teste ubuntu (depuis breezy en fait) j'ai jamais réussi à avoir la 3d.

petites précisions :
j'ai une radeon 9200 et voici mon xorg.conf (pour les correcteurs dans l'âme si jamais il y a des grosses bourdes) :

Déjà, il y a plusieurs soucis dans ton Xorg ...

    - Il y a deux sections devices et deux sections monitor et deux sections screen !!
Il faut qu'il n'y en ait qu'une de chaque !
Il faut virer les sections monitor, device et screen qui contiennent "aticonfig" quelque part.

    - Les sections monitor device et screen sont dans le mauvais ordre ...
Il faut mettre la section device, ensuite la section monitor et enfin la section screen.

Biensûr, fais des sauvegardes du xorg avant de passer au scalpel ... Pour sauver le xorg qui fonctionne ... mais aussi celui qui ne fonctionne pas, histoire de pouvoir chercher ce qui ne va pas ...

J'espère que ça t'aidera, en tout cas, c'est comme ça chez moi !! Certe, c'est pas une reference ... comme tu peux le constater dans le post juste avant le tient !!

salut Josuanexo. J'ai moi aussi une Radeon 200m. Pour l'instant, je n'arrive pas à tout faire fonctionner comme il faut. J'arrive juste à lancer une session xgl, mais je n'arrive pas à lancer beryl,  j'ai une mauvaise surprise:

** (beryl-manager:5877): CRITICAL **: impossible d'exécuter beryl-xgl: Succès

Autre chose, je n'ai pas de section files dans mon xorg.conf, est-ce normal? je ne pense pas...:(

Salut a tous !!!

Total newbie sur ubuntu mais je m'eclate à réapprendre l'informatique (windows m'a pourris et je l'ai dégagé tongue ) j'ai l'impression de revenir un peu sur de l'amigaOS avec melange de ligne de commande et univers graphique.
Bref, je surfe sur ce portail mais j'avoue qu'il y a tellement d'info que je suis un peu perdu pour trouver un simple reponse clair.

Ubuntu 7.04 gere  t-il des le départ ma RAdéon 9250, enfin pour la bureautique pas de souci puisque je m'en sers mais le driver libre Radeon est il installé par défaut ou dois-je le faire.

J'ai cherché avec le moteur du site mais dans tous le nombres d'info trouvé je n'ai pas eu cette simple réponse.

par avance merci

/me est un aprenti padawan, en pengouin je me transformerais

je n'en ais pas, mais je suis assez sur que oui, en effet le driver radeon libre marche sur cette carte a ma connaissance, et il as en plus des performances correctes...

et a ton avis, le driver est installé par defaut lors de l'instalation d'ubuntu ou dois-je l'installer en complement ?

ça devrait marcher par défaut normalement. (que soit avec le pilote ati générique ou avec le radeon)

oui je confirme que cela marche puisque je peux utiliser le bureau mais c'est plus par rapport aux jeux qui nécéssite plus de ressource

oh ok j'avais lu de travers, je croyait que tu n'avais pas besoin de 3d. hmm
pour savoir si tu as de la 3d tu peut utiliser glx_gears (dans un terminal) ça et donneras une idée de tes perfs (ce n'est pas non plus un benchmark).

cela dit, a ma connaissance cette carte n'est pas faite pour jouer (enfin c'était pas du haut de gamme a sa sortie quoi).

si tu n'as rien ou des résultats minables '(~500/s) alors tu n'as pas le bon driver...
