j'ai du faire ce qui est indiqué dans le tuto 4 ou 5 fois
mais toujours rien dans /dev/video

Pas de message d'erreur quand tu a lancé sudo ./gspca_build
Sinon est ce que tu a un tunner ?
Ah aussi débranche ta webcam rebranche et donne les derniére ligne de dmesg

j'ai suivi ce tuto pour installer ma webcam :

et pas de webcam fonctionnelle (trust wp 1200)
j'ai installer easyspca mais ne fonctionne pas non plus.

ça me semble bizarre comme droits.
SI tu arrives à lancer xawtv en root : "sudo xawtv" c'est que tu as des problèmes de droits.
Sur ce pc j'ai :

Je ne sais pas ce que "c" veut dire mais ici ça fonctionne et je fait parti du groupe video (sinon je n'aurai pas le droit d'utiliser ma webcam).
Sur un autre PC j'ai du faire un chmod 666 pour que xawtv accède à la webcam!

J'utilise Ubuntu 7.10 Desktop sur un Sony Vaio VGN-TX3XP. J'ai une Creative WebCam NX Ultra.
J'ai installé le paquet easycam2 depuis le dépà´t http://blognux.free.fr, puis j'ai exécuté la commande sudo apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r` et j'ai lancé lauchcam2 depuis un terminal.
Easycam se lance, et la webcam est détectée :

Lorsque je clique "Starting installation" j'ai une fenêtre log qui s'ouvre avec "L'installation à échouer" et le résultat suivant dans le terminal :

Ok à ce moment je n'ai personne pour tester le chat vidéo mais dans aMSN, dans l'Audio and Video assistant j'ai bien ma vidéo en preview. Pour l'instant c'est un succès donc ;-)
Cela dit comme je l'avais posté ici, c'est après, lorsque j'essaye de faire un chat vidéo, que ça ne fonctionne pas. Je posterai le résultat dès que j'aurai trouvé un(e) cobaye :-)

A propos de mon problème avec Skype, comme indiqué ici dans le message de sidders, supprimer le répertoire ~/.Skype permet de reconfigurer son compte et régler le problème du crash au démarrage.

Ok j'ai testé sous Skype 2 et sous aMSN et c'est toujours pareil : la fenêtre vidéo reste bleue ou noire et rien ne se passe.
Sous Skype le CPU s'emballe même à 100% jusqu'à ce que j'arrête la vidéo.
Pour aMSN j'ai bien forwardé les ports 6891 et 1863 depuis mon routeur vers ma machine.
A noter que sous aMSN dans l'Audio and Video assistant, quand j'arrive sur la page Step 1 la fenêtre vidéo reste bleue, avec la mention Preview:/dev/video0:0 qui s'affiche une seconde. Je fais Next et sur la Step 2 c'est pareil, bleue encore. Mais si à ce moment je fais Back cette fois dans la Step 1 la vidéo va s'afficher !
Une idée ?

Je crois que je vais revendre ma NX Ultra sur eBay.
Quelle webcam me conseillez-vous qui soit absolument compatible avec Ubuntu, idéalement sans aucune configuration, et à un prix honnête bien sûr ?

J'ai un problème : j'ai installé easycam2, mais il n'est pas dans le menu Système > Administration (ni dans les autres menus d'ailleurs)
Il est pourtant bien installé :
$ sudo apt-get install easycam2
Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait
Construction de l'arbre des dépendances
Lecture des informations d'état... Fait
easycam2 est déjà la plus récente version disponible.
0 mis à jour, 0 nouvellement installés, 0 à enlever et 0 non mis à jour.
Quelqu'un peut m'aider ?
PS : au passage, lsusb me donne "Bus 007 Device 003: ID 04f2:b015 Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd ", est-ce que cette webcam sera reconnue avec easycam2 ou je fais fausse route ?

olazon Bizarre ton probléme le driver est bien installé d'aprés dmesg mais il n'y a pas de périphérie video de crée
est ce que tu peux donner les message aprés sudo ./gspca_build ?

J'ai une webcam Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000 et ubuntu refuse de l'utiliser. En faisant un lsusb, je vois bien la webcam mais c'est tout.
Je vois sur internet que celle ci pose beaucoup de problèmes mais y a-t-il quant même un moyen de pouvoir la faire fonctionner? Une webcam à 100 euros, j'apprécierai de pouvoir l'utiliser sans devoir rebooter sous windaube.
A default, si je pouvais, au moins, faire fonctionner le micro intégré.....ça serait cool....:P
