Si EasyCam ta envoie le fichier dans ton bureau c'est que ta webcam n'etais pas detecter
Je ne te conseil pas d'utiliser EasyWebcam car je n'est pas repercuter sur lui les derniers modif du programme
Tu peux lancer EasyCam depuis la console (lauchcam) et me renvoyer le resultat ?

J'ai une Hercule Deluxe (celle avec le micro intégré) et malgré les explications du site "alpha.dyndns.org" et celles de ce forum, rien...
En fait pas tout à fait, beaucoup de remue méninges, quelques mises à jour et la lecture assidue de ce forum c'est déjà ça
A la finale quelque chose fonctionne : c'est easycam qui me laisse supposer que ma webcam n'est pas reconnue

La procedure d'installation est explique dans le 1er post
Il suffit d'ajouter le depot depuis synaptic et d'installer le paquets EasyCam

J'utilise Ubuntu depuis quelques temps sur mon PC de bureau et je viens de l'installer sur mon portable (pour pouvoir l'utiliser plus souvent). J'ai eu quelques problèmes pour l'installation (carte son et vidéo) mais ces problèmes sont tous connu et documentés et je n'ai pas eu de mal à les résoudre.

J'ai donc un Asus A6VAB0028H qui a une webcam du type "BisonCam, NB Pro" (d'après Windows) intégré au dessus de l'écran, et c'est la seule chose qui ne marche pas avec Ubuntu Breezy Badger (à part le lecteur de carte dont je n'ai aucune utilité pour le moment).

Ma question est la suivante : Est-ce que les développeurs d'EasyCam se penchent sur le problème de cette webcam ? Est-ce que j'ai un espoir de la faire marcher ? Avec un autre driver peut-être ?

Merci pour la mise à jour, easycam m'annonce que ma webcam est installée. Youpi ! Oui, mais... c'est tout
Bon alors voilà :
J'avais des "/dev/video" jusqu'à trente et quelque, et plus rien ! Pas grave je tape :

sudo mknod /dev/video0 c 81 0
sudo chmod 666 /dev/video0

Mais toujours pas moyen d'utiliser cette petite chose ridicule accrochée à mon écran
J'ai comme retour que le périphérique "/dev/video0" n'existe pas. Et là, ça m'etonnerais
Puisque j'ai le même message quelle que soit l'application, peut-être ai-je un autre problème (un élément manquant ou mal configuré ?)
Anbreizh aurais-tu une procédure pour que je test ce bazar, et que j'arrive à utiliser "Kopete" ?

Bon, reprenons les choses dans l'ordre et à tête reposée :

- lorsque je plug la webcam et que je fais un dmesg :

- je fais la mise à jour de "easycam" (1.15) et je refais l'installation = webcam installée

- dans /dev pas de video0 :

sudo mknod /dev/video0 c 81 0
sudo chmod 666 /dev/video0

- un lsmod ne donne pas trace de ov511

- pas de problème :

sudo modprobe ov511

- un lsmod plus tard :

Voilà, le problème semble lié à /dev/video0
