Tu as de l'espace disque et des inodes libres, c'est bien.
Pour tes paquets, donne le retour de

cat /etc/apt/sources.list

et de

ls -la /etc/apt/sources.list.d

Si je comprends bien la simulation,

Les paquets suivants seront ENLEVÉS :
  ubuntu-desktop
0 mis à jour, 0 nouvellement installés, 1 à enlever et 1 non mis à jour.
Remv ubuntu-desktop [1.307]

le contenu d'ubuntu-desktop est déjà désinstallé. (ubuntu-desktop est ce qu'on appelle un méta-paquet : une enveloppe pour une série d'autres paquets). Ton système est donc déjà allégé.
  Et je doute de la nécessité d'installer tout ce que je vois dans la seconde partie de la simulation. Mais une partie, oui.

  Tu as parlé d'une prudente "veille" en #44 : si ta saucy ne démarrait plus après un arrêt complet, il faudrait que tu démarres une session live de saucy, que tu fasses un chroot et bind, cf là où tu adapterais les quatre premières commandes (pas les suivantes qui concernaient un problème de grub) suivi de

sudo apt-get install lubuntu-desktop

Eteindre, retirer le support live puis démarrer. Et tu nous diras alors ce qui te convient et ce qui ne te convient pas : on adaptera.

J'ai finalement  éteint et rallumé.
J'ai eu alors l'ancienne présentation graphique.
J'ai du faire

stratlxde

pour démarrer à nouveau LXDE.
Ce qui m'étonne, c'est que je conserve toujours l'ancienne présentation avec les icônes sur le côté et la nouvelle (LXDE) en bas de l'écran?
Je ne peux pas écrire dans le terminal GNOME qui est présent sous une forme vide, noire avec au dessus "fichers, édition ..."
Si je ferme le terminal, il m'est dit qu'il y a un processus actif qui va être interrompu.
Pour répondre à tes questions, je suis obligé de fermer ce terminal et d'en ouvrir un nouveau.

La copie du sources.list est incomplète : recommence.

  Sur le forum j'ai vu défiler pas mal de problèmes dus à grub-customizer. Et comme tu es sous saucy, les dépôts grub-customizer-quantal n'ont plus lieu d'être : supprime-les.

Je pense que c'est complet cette fois ci.

Tu parles de grub. Pour moi cela fait aussi référence au fait que je suis en dual boot... (encore une fois je suis assez incompétent !) Je souhaite avoir encore la possibilité d'aller sous windows, notamment pour les sauvegardes de mon disque dur pour mes photos car je n'ai pas trouvé l'équivalent de Cobian sous ubuntu.

Il n' y a absolument pas besoin de grub-customizer pour démarrer sur un autre O.S.
Montre ton grub actuel, je te dirai si ça va ou comment le modifier :

cat /etc/default/grub

- -

  Applique le #56, si pas déjà fait.

- -

  Sauvegarder (pour la réversibilité en cas de pépin)  le sources.list actuel :

sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.20140317a

  Puis, par les actions suivantes :
- Nettoyer le fichier des références precise et à quantal,
- Commenter les lignes relatives à des backports,

Vérifie que

sudo os-prober

t'affiche bien win. Après quoi tu peux supprimer complètement grub-customizer

Tu peux raccourcir le délai de dix secondes : 3 à 5 suffisent pour appuyer une fois sur une flèche directionnelle - ce qui stoppe le décompte - ensuite tu continues tranquillou jusqu'à la ligne de win ou autre OS.

Et surtout :

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

L'option dist-upgrade met à jour tous les paquets installés vers les dernières versions en installant de nouveaux paquets si nécessaire, par opposition à l'upgrade simple qui n'ajoute pas de nouveaux paquets.

DigiKam est très pratique pour cela car il renomme mes photos au téléchargement dans un classement personnel; J'ai constaté que les infos bulles étaient devenues illisibles car écrites en jaune clair sur fond gris clair. Ce changement me semble être concomitant avec l'installation de LXDE. LXDE a-t-il ce genre d'effet ? dispose-t-il d'un outil de réglage ? J'ai noté que plus haut tu semblais dire que ce logiciel posait problème.

  Je ne comprends pas ta question. Je crois surtout que ce sera le moment de réorganiser tes partitions - ce qui est le titre de ce fil - en réduisant la taille de la partition vista - avec l'utilitaire de vista - en mettant au milieu du disque une grande partition de données, et à la fin *buntu.
  Ou mieux et faisable dès à présent puisque tu as une tour : mettre tes données sur un deuxième disque Sata interne. Tu y gagneras en sûreté, puisque les OS usent les disques plus vite que les données,
et, ce qui est ton but, en rapidité (dit-on).

Modifier le délai d'affichage de grub :
tu ouvres /etc/default/grub avec gksudo leafpad, tu repères la ligne
GRUB_TIMEOUT=10
et tu remplaces 10 par le nombre de secondes qui te plaît !

  Ce que j'ai dit, c'est que digikam avait été conçu pour l'environnement de bureau KDE, qui est plus gourmand que LXDE, aussi gourmand que Unity que tu avais (et as encore en partie, semble-t-il).
  Bien sûr que LXDE a son fichier de configuration à ta disposition : je te conseille d'ouvrir un fil dans la section LXDE du forum., en donnant le lien vers ce fil, en exposant pourquoi tu souhaites conserver digikam et en disant que tu veux corriger ta configuration suite à une migration imparfaite.

Tout fonctionne, je crois.
Lors de l'ouverture de l'ordinateur, il faut cliquer sur le petit logo d'ubuntu à côté du nom d'utilisateur.
Cela ouvre une petite fenêtre avec trois choix possibles :
- Openbox
- LXDE GNOME
- LXDE
J'ai coché sur LXDE et tout semble aller bien !
et je dois pouvoir utiliser l'ancienne distribution si je le souhaite !
Votre accompagnement, Moko et Bruno, aura donc été efficace !
