Dual boot win8 Ubuntu 14.04 sur Sony Vaio Pro

Bonjour à tous,

Après 5ans de bons et loyaux service, je remplace mon Dell Studio qui tourne actuellement en dual boot Ubuntu 12.04  / Win7.
J'ai fais l'acquisition d'un Sony Vaio Pro 13 équipé de Win8 pré-installé (à mon grand désespoir)

Dans l'idée, je souhaiterais :
     - Conserver Win8 (parceque même si je n'y comprend rien, je l'ai payé et que j'ai besoin d'une version de windows pour quelques logiciels pro. Si je ne m'y fait vraiment pas, je le supprimerais ultérieurement pour remettre Win7),
     - Installer Ubuntu 14.04
     - Disposer d'une partition partagée pour stocker mes documents et y avoir accès depuis les 2 systèmes d'exploitation

Avant mon achat, j'avais regardé si le PC était compatible Ubuntu et j'avais vu que oui, en cherchant hier soir sur le forum, j'ai vu que c'était plutôt "oui mais ..." ^^, notamment parce que le PC possède un UEFI qui semble bridé (Cf. http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.ph … 31751&p=2).

J'ai réussi à booter sur la live session USB et tout à l'air de bien fonctionner.

Pour installer Ubuntu en Dual-Boot, je dois repartitionner mon DD.
Sur mon PC actuel, j'ai une partition étendue avec /, /home et swap + 1 partition NTFS pour les documents partagés + 1 partition NTFS pour win7 et je suis très content de ce partitionnement, sachant que j'ai créer des liens symboliques entre les dossiers type "téléchargements", "photos", ...d'Ubuntu vers la partition partagée Ubuntu/Win.

1) Quand je lance GParted depuis ma live session sur le Sony, j'ai tout plein de petite partition dont je ne sais pas quoi faire. J'imagine qu'il y en a à conserver, mais je ne sais pas lesquelles : un coup de main serait le bienvenu.

2) J'ai vu qu'il fallait créer une partition Boot EFI en début de DD, mais avec toutes ces partitions déjà existante, je ne sais pas où la caser.

3) J'ai 8Go de ram, est-ce que la règle de dimensionnement du SWAP RAM+1Go est toujours d'actualité ?

4) Sur mon ancien PC, comme j'avais entièrement formaté le DD, j'avais mis Ubuntu en début de DD et Win7 en fin pour optimiser la vitesse du PC en localisant les partitions les plus utilisées en début de DD. Sur mon Sony, je vais devoir laisser Win8 en début de DD car pré-installé, cela va-t-il ralentir Ubuntu sachant le j'ai un SSD ?

5) Comme j'ai téléchargé a version internationale 64bit, ma live session est en anglais avec clavier qwerty. Lors de l'installation, est-ce que je pourrais choisir l'installation en français ou faudra-t-il attendre des mises à jour ultérieures ? Et surtout, est-ce que je vais pouvoir choisir un clavier azerty ?

6) Est-ce que vous pensez que ça serait plus simple de virer tout de suite Win8 pour le remplacer par Win7

Voilà tout, je crois avoir fait le tour de mes premières interrogations.

3) non inutile sauf si tu veut utiliser la mise en veille
4) aucun incident la position sur le ssd n'influe pas c'est du flash il n' y a pas de plateau comme sur un disque dur
5) des le premier redémarrage tu peut installer la langue fr et le clavier français dans prise en charge des langues dans les paramètres systèmes
6) oui car si tu réinstalle win 7 après ubuntu tu vas devoir reconstruire ton dual boot

1) et 2) attend malbo c'est lui le spécialiste la dessus.

Toutes tes partitions actuelles sont à conserver : la seule chose que tu as à faire, c'est de diminuer la taille de ton disque C: de Windows depuis Windows lui-même comme expliqué dans la doc afin de libérer de la place pour installer Ubuntu : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/repartitionner … _windows_8
Mais avant de t'engager là-dedans, je te suggère de faire une image disque de ton disque dur comme c'est proposé dans ce Howto : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.ph … 2#p3892422
C'est une solution efficace pour restaurer l'état actuel en cas de catastrophe liée à l'installation de Ubuntu.

Ça marche. Merci beaucoup pour ces infos.

Donc à partir de Windows, je réduis la taille de la partition Windows pour créer une partition de documents partagés Win8/Ubuntu et une partition étendu avec les partitions Ubuntu (ça fait beaucoup de partition tout ça).
En plus de ça, me confirme-tu que je dois créer une partition Boot EFI et si oui, puis-je ma mettre là où ça m'arrange ou pas (j'ai lu qu'il fallait la mettre en début de DD) ?

Enfin, à titre d'information, sais-tu à quoi correspondent toutes ces partitions déjà existantes sur mon DD ? Et si je décide de passer sous windows 7, puis-je en supprimer quelques unes ?

Ton disque dur a une table de partitions du type GPT : http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPT
par conséquent, il n'y a pas de partition étendue à créer comme dans le cas de la table de partitions MSDOS (MBR) : toutes tes partitions déjà créées et celles que tu vas créer sont des partitions primaires.
A l'étape 3 de l'installation, tu dois absolument sélectionner "Autre chose" afin de créer manuellement les partitions.   
La partition EFI existe déjà donc tu n'as pas à la créer. Tu as juste à créer 3 partitions :
- une partition racine de 20 Go en format EXT4
- une partition swap
- une partition de partage de données avec Windows en format NTFS (*)
Dans le champ chargeur d'amorçage (ça s'appelle autrement dans l'installateur de Trusty mais je n'ai pas de copie d'écran sous la main), ne sélectionne rien : laisse ce qu'il y a par défaut parce que ce choix n'est pas utilisé par l'installateur dans le cas d'une installation en mode EFI.

(*) je te conseille de ne pas définir de point de montage pour cette partition de partage de données avec Windows pour la raison que ça peut être fait après installation avec ntfs-config : contente-toi de créer cette partition en format NTFS

Bon, bah j'ai fait mon boulet ...

J'avais tout bien partitionne mon DD, je lance l'installation et la j'ai du partir en vitesse de chez moi, donc j'ai interrompu l'installation.
Je reviens plus tard, relance la live session et par la meme occasion l'installation, et la je vois un petit onglet "supprimer l'installation de Ubuntu 14.04 et reinstaller Ubuntu 14.04". Je me dit "chouette, j'etais pas sur de tout avoir bien fait, je vais pouvoir tout recommencer". Bref, je lance l'installation, redemarre une fois l'installation et forcementm ca ne redemarre pas.

Pour couronner le tout, j'avais tente de faire une sauvegarde du DD avant de lancer la 1ere installation, sans reussir mon coup, du coup j'ai lance l'installation sans sauvegarde.

Aujourd'hui, je me retrouve donc avec un pc avec ubuntu 14,04 d'installe, mais qui ne demarre pas. Windows 8 a ete ecrase lors de l'installation d'Ubuntu et j'ai aucune sauvegarde.

J'ai tente de faire un boot repair, mais ca n'a rien change.
J'ai tente de lancer un live usb de windows 7, mais il n'a meme pas demarre.
J'ai tente de reinstaller Ubuntu, au cas ou il y ait eu un pb lors de l'installation, mais ca ne fonctionne pas mieux.

Finalement, j'ai profite d'avoir installe boot repair sur ma live session pour faire un boot info :

Effectivement, Windows 8 a été écrasé par l'installation de Ubuntu qui s'est installé sur la totalité du disque dur. Si tu as des doc très précieux qui étaient stockés dans Windows 8, il faut que tu t'adresses à un spécialiste de la récupération de données.
L'explication de cet accident, c'est que l'installateur de Ubuntu est buggé (Bug #1265192) : le choix "Supprimer Ubuntu XX.XX et réinstaller" est trompeur. Effectivement, on ne s'attend pas du tout à ce que la réinstallation se fasse en écrasant tout ce qu'il y a sur le disque dur. Le lien que je t'avais donné plus haut sur l'étape 3 de l'installation contenait une mise en garde pour éviter que tu fasses ce mauvais choix :

Pour les ordinateurs préinstallés Windows 8, L'installateur de Ubuntu ne sait pas détecter la présence de Windows 8. Pour un dual-boot, il est donc impératif de sélectionner "Autre chose" pour ne pas risquer l'écrasement de Windows 8 (ne jamais sélectionner "Supprimer Ubuntu XX.XX et réinstaller") 

Et plus bas dans la doc, il y a ce passage :

4. Supprimer Ubuntu XX.XX et réinstaller : Cette option apparaît si une installation de Ubuntu est déjà présente sur le disque dur. Si on valide cette option, l'installateur ne se contente pas de supprimer l'installation existante de Ubuntu : tout ce qu'il y a sur le disque dur est effacé et si un autre OS non détecté par l’installateur se trouve sur le disque, il sera effacé

mais ça n'a pas suffit et je le déplore.
Je ne sais pas t'aider pour réinstaller Windows 8. Je te prie de t'adresser à ton vendeur de l'ordi pour qu'il te fournisse de quoi réinstaller Windows 8. Je pense que ça ne sera pas gratuit.

Salut,

Si tu parviens à trouver sur Internet une image iso de la même version de W8 (c'est apparemment plutôt simple), tu peux déjà le réinstaller. La clé d'activation étant cryptée dans le bios, elle sera détectée automatiquement. Tu auras simplement perdu le recovery et les outils sony (la partition "assist" notamment):  le site Sony propose peut-être des moyens de recréer tout cela.

Si tu veux en revanche installer W7, il faut préparer le bios à cette alternative ( désactiver le "boot secure", activer "other systems" si l'option est présente,.. ) , mais il faudra peut-être aussi modifier ton DVD W7 pour qu'il contienne le fichier /efi/boot/bootx64.efi .

Ensuite, il restera à trouver les pilotes (etc.) et à réinstaller ubuntu en dual-boot , ce qui n'est aujourd'hui plus très compliqué en uefi (à condition de ne pas tomber dans le piège du partitionnement automatique qui efface ws).

Bonjour et merci pour ces réponses matinales.

Effectivement, je le déplore moi aussi.
J'avais bien lu la mise en garde, et j'avais bien commencé la manipulation avec le partitionnement ... mais je ne sais pas pourquoi je n'y ai pas fait attention en reprenant l'installation, peut-être un surplus d'enthousiasme. Enfin bon, je sais que c'est de ma faute, j'en suis totalement conscient.

Dans l'immédiat, je ne cherche pas à réinstaller Windows (pour cela, je suis effectivement en contact avec mon fabricant, encore que je ne suis pas sûr de réinstaller Windows, parceque je n'arrive vraiment à me faire à Windows 8), je cherche surtout à faire fonctionner Ubuntu 14.04, qui à l'heure actuelle ne démarre pas.

Pour cela, toute aide sera la bienvenue.

Essaie déjà de refaire l'installation d'ubuntu de A à Z. Si ça ne démarre pas après ça, explique exactement ce qu'il se passe. Il se peut que ton bios/uefi attende un bootx64 de type windows..
