[résolu] problème d'installation XPS 15 (9550)
Bonjour,
je viens de faire (youpi) l'acquisition d'un XPS 15 (9550) de chez Dell, et comme à chaque nouvelle machine, j'ai des soucis pour installer ce que je veux, c'est-à-dire un dual boot windows/ubuntu. Le windows n'est là que pour le jeu et parfois un ou deux logiciels peu courant. Je ne souhaite pas y allouer beaucoup d'espace disque. L'essentiel de mon activité se passe sous Ubuntu, qui est utilisé quotidiennement.
Ma machine dispose d'un disque SSD de 32 Go et d'un disque dur normal de 1 To. Je voudrais que l'essentiel des ressources aille pour un ubuntu qui tourne bien.
Voilà pour ce que je veux, évidemment, ça se complique une fois que j'essaye de le réaliser. J'ai essayé de trouver les solutions sur le forum, mais je dois avouer que là je commence à sécher.
Ce que j'ai fait:
-créer une clé de récupération windows
-créer une clé (deux même) d'installation d'ubuntu
-désactiver la veille prolongée sous windows
-changer dans le BIOS le mode "raid" pour "ahci"
à l'amorcage de la clé, je parviens à boot dessus environ une fois sur deux. Le grub s'affiche, et me permet de vérifier l'absence d'erreur, j'ai d'abord tenté en sélectionnant "installer". 9 fois sur 10 j'ai un écran noir. Quand je parviens à aller jusqu'à l'installation (par chance semble-t-il), j'ai un crash au moment de sélectionner la partition où installer (il n'en propose qu'une, et n'affiche rien d'autre, puis l'écran se fige et ça ne bouge pas pendant au moins une heure). La même chose s'est passé quand j'ai tenté en lançant la version live pour installer à partir de là.
Par la suite, mon windows ne voulait plus redémarrer, j'ai dû le réinstaller avec la clé de récupération. Depuis, j'en suis au même point, et je ne vois plus quoi faire.
edit: je viens de voir sur un autre message que le problème pourrait venir de la version (14.04) d'ubuntu, et que cela pourrait être mieux avec la 15.04. Je la télécharge maintenant, et je vous tiens au courant.
Mes questions sont au nombre de deux (pour l'instant):
1) comment réussir à aller plus loin dans l'installation tout simplement?
2) au moment de faire le partitionnage, j'ai peur de faire une bêtise, donc: quoi choisir?

Ce que je ferais pour faire au plus simple.
- d'abord défragmenter le disque windows qui est en NTFS
- utiliser gparted live sur une clé pour réduire la partition ntfs
- utiliser gparted pour partitionner en ext4 (pour linux) peut -être pas utile car ubuntu a des chances de détecter l'espace libre, mais ça ne mange pas de pain.
- rebooter depuis ton ubuntu sur clé et installer sur la partition ext4
- installation simple (utiliser tout l'espace disque, il va repartitionner en ext4 et rajouter une petite partition de swap)
- refaire le boot de grub correctement avec l'outil dédié de linux secure

Merci pour ta réponse.
Pour la défragmentation, je n'y parviens pas, l'outil de windows 10 me dit "optimisation non disponible". Je vais partir du principe que ce n'est pas essentiel, on verra bien.
Pour la suite, je pense avoir compris, as-tu une idée de la taille que je dois allouer à chaque système (et plus précisément à chaque partition)?

Bon, me voilà confronté au même problème que j'évoquais dans mon premier message: impossible de lancer ubuntu même en version live. J'arrive jusqu'au grub, je choisis "essayer sans installer", il m'affiche parfois le logo d'ubuntu et une suite de ligne de commande que je n'ai pas le temps de lire, avant de me donner un écran noir.
J'ai le même résultat avec les versions 14.04 et 15.04.
Quelqu'un a une idée de ce que je dois faire?

Bonjour,
Essaie de lancer ta session "live" en précisant le paramètre "nomodeset" (je crois qu'on peut le choisir dans une fenêtre d'options à l'écran d'accueil). Ça devrait te permettre d'avoir un affichage, mais il ne sera pas terrible, 1024x768 au mieux, mais on en passe par là pour installer, puis on tâche de trouver le "bon" pilote pour la carte graphique récalcitrante une fois l'installation faite.
Plus de 50 ans d'informatique, ça en fait des lignes de commandes en console, mais on n'avait pas le choix...
Excellente raison pour, aujourd'hui qu'on le peut, utiliser au maximum les INTERFACES GRAPHIQUES !

On avance, merci à erresse pour l'astuce du nomodeset. Je suis donc dans la session live qui s'est lancée du premier coup. Quand je lance gparted, je reçois le message d'erreur suivant:
intitulé: Libparted bug Found!
contenu: The backup GPT table is not at the end of the disk, as it should be. This might mean that another operating system believes the disk is smaller. Fix, by moving the backup to the end (and removing the old backup)?
option de choix: Fix; Cancel; Ignore.
ça dépasse mes compétences en matière de partitionnage, et j'ai peur de faire une bêtise qui détruirait à nouveau mon windows (et mine de rien c'est pénible à réinstaller). Qu'en pensez-vous? Quelle option devrais-je choisir dans cette boite de dialogue?
Par ailleurs, une fois dans gparted, avez vous des conseils à me donner pour ce qui est de la taille à allouer à chaque partition (rappel: j'ai un SSD de 32 Go et un HDD de 1 To).

Edit: après quelques recherches, il semble que le problème puisse venir du mode "Raid" ré-activé dans mon BIOS depuis que j'ai réinstallé windows. Je tenterais bien de repasser en AHCI comme j'avais fait, mais j'ai peur que cela détruise à nouveau windows... est-ce que quelqu'un saurait m'en dire plus?

En plus, c'est Ubuntu 15.10 64 bits qui convient (et non pas une version précédente de Ubuntu)

Entendu, me voilà donc lancé dans le téléchargement de la 15.10, je n'avais pas réalisé que c'était celle qu'il fallait. Tu confirmes qu'aucune version LTS n'est dispo?
Pour le AHCI, je n'ai pas encore testé (puisque j'attends d'avoir la 15.10), mais pour l'instant je constate que windows refuse de démarrer si le mode raid est désactivé. J'ai réussi à le relancer en remettant le mode raid mais pas moyen en étant en AHCI. C'est un détail pour l'instant mais je me dis que ça vaut le coup de le dire au cas où...

Comme toujours avec Dell, on n'arrive pas à trouver une page du Web qui décrit exactement un modèle bien précis : tu as écrit que tu as un XPS 15 (9550) et tu as précisé que tu as un "SSD de 32 Go et d'un disque dur normal de 1 To" mais dans le lien que j'ai indiqué dans le post #7, il s'agit aussi d'un modèle "Dell Xps 15 9550" sauf qu'il y aurait un "512GB PCIe SSD". Pour éclairer un peu ma lanterne, si tu parviens à démarrer en session live, avant de te lancer dans une tentative d'installation, je te prierais de faire un Boot-Info et de donner l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse à ce message.

Entendu, dès que la clé est prête (si ça marche comme les autres ça prendra un peu de temps), je tente de faire un boot-info.
Si ça peut être utile: Dell proposait plusieurs config. j'ai pris le XPS 15 disponible sur le site "op-rentree" (si tu veux y accéder, il faut valider plusieurs fois des trucs du genre "accéder aux offres", puis chercher XPS, et sélectionner le seul XPS 15 qu'il y a). Ils annoncent je cite "Disque dur 1To 5400 TPM + 32Go SSD". Voilà pour ce que je peux dire, mais je suppose que le boot-info t'en dira plus que moi...

Donc, après création d'une live-10.15, voilà où j'en suis:
-premier démarrage, dans le bios je passe en AHCI, pas de souci pour lancer la live session. La commande du tuto pour passer en azerty ne marche pas mais bon. Je lance le boot-info comme indiqué dans le tuto, ça marche jusqu'à la dernière commande. Là, après avoir analysé le système, il me sort la fenêtre pour créer un rapport en ligne. Seulement le système se fige, et je ne peux plus rien faire. Je décide donc de retenter l'opération
-une série de démarrage qui ne fonctionnent pas (au mieux j'arrive jusqu'au grub puis écran noir, au pire il décide seul de redémarrer après 2-3 secondes.
-je finis par réussir après une dizaine d'essai, et j'arrive au même résultat que la première fois: l'écran est figé au moment de créer le rapport en ligne... La souris ne répond plus (ni touchpad, ni souris usb), la touche échap ne fait rien, je n'ai pas d'autre idée.
Désolé de pas pouvoir en dire plus... est-ce que je devrais quand même tenter l'installation?

Bon, c'est clairement pas encourageant, mais sait-on jamais, d'autres auront peut-être des idées.
Est-ce que tu saurais me dire en quelques mots simples ce qu'il y a de si problématique? Je ne mets pas en doute ce que tu dis, mais c'est la première fois qu'on me dit que c'est impossible de mettre ubuntu sur un ordinateur donc ça m'étonne. Et ça m'emmerderait vraiment de devoir repasser à windows sous prétexte que Dell a réussi à rendre impossible le dual boot...

Le Boot-Info a une allure inhabituelle pour moi, probablement parce que ton matériel est ultra-moderne. Je n'ai pas envie de t'embarquer dans une galère dont je ne saurais pas te sortir. Ce qui est sûr et certain, c'est qu'un jour il y aura Ubuntu dans cet ordi. Mais je ne sais pas avec quelle version de ton Bios ça se fera, ni avec quelle version de Ubuntu.

Ok, je prends note, si je comprends bien je peux espérer que les prochaines version d'ubuntu fonctionnent mieux sur mon matériel, et donc réessayer d'installer d'ici quelques mois c'est bien cela?
Si ça ne pose pas de problème, je laisse le sujet ouvert encore quelques temps au cas où quelqu'un d'autre a des idées, sinon je le passerai en résolu bien que le mot soit un peu inadapté

Bon, un petit coup de fil au support de Dell plus tard:
Le type au téléphone m'a d'abord expliqué que je peux désactiver la technologie RAID directement depuis windows (et m'a montré comment faire). A priori, ça transforme le SSD en partition normale si j'ai bien compris. Le démarrage serait alors possible en AHCI sous windows. Par ailleurs, selon lui, aucun risque de ne plus pouvoir réinstaller windows en manipulant ubuntu. Du coup je me dis que ça peut valoir le coup de tenter quand même en faisant la manip évoquée ci-dessus.
Malbo, tu maintiens que c'est une mauvaise idée? D'autres avis?

Vérifie déjà que ça fonctionne bien comme il a dit (le support Dell), c'est à dire désactive le RAID, passe en AHCI et démarre sous Windows. Si c'est vrai que Windows fonctionne comme ça, refais une session Live de Ubuntu 15.10 64 bits, refais un Boot-Info depuis la session Live et donne l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse. Le but c'est qu'on ne voit plus de "/dev/mapper/isw" dans ce Boot-Info (s'il y en a toujours, ce n'est pas bon : cela veut dire que le RAID n'est pas entièrement désactivé).

Il a fallu se débarrasser des "/dev/mapper/isw". Et le cas ressemble au tiens par la présence d'un SSD utilisé en cache pour accélérer le démarrage de Windows.

Alors:
-le démarrage de windows en AHCI fonctionne. C'est clairement plus lent mais bon, si le SSD peut avoir une utilité sous ubuntu, ça vaut le coup. Et j'ai vu ici https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.p … 443481&p=2 qu'il était parfois possible de réactiver Raid (c'est bien la même chose que "Intel smart response technology"?) une fois ubuntu installé (mais là je me trompe peut-être?).
-le boot-info est là: http://paste.ubuntu.com/14856459/ et oh qu'il est beau (à mes yeux en tout cas): les /dev/mapper/isw ont disparu (ou je les ai ratés).
-en revanche j'ai toujours les mêmes soucis avec la version live: une dizaine d'essai avant de réussir à passer le grub sans tomber sur un écran noir ou un logo d'ubuntu figé; la session s'est à nouveau figée une fois le rapport établi.
Que pensez-vous de la situation (notamment le boot-info, parce qu'en vrai j'y comprends pas grand chose...)
PS: si quelqu'un m'explique comment faire, je serai ravi de poster le boot-info directement. Il suffit de faire un copier coller dans des balises de code?

My bad, si en plus j'oublie ce que vous m'avez déjà dit on va pas y arriver. En effet, ça marche beaucoup mieux avec l'option nomodeset.
Maintenant quand je lance Gparted sous la session live, je n'ai plus de message d'erreur. En revanche, ça me dépasse un peu, voilà ce que j'ai, j'ai pris une capture d'écran en sélection les différents /dev disponibles en haut à droite des images:
Du coup je ne sais pas tellement comment m'y prendre, je suis perdu dans ces histoires de partitions...
Rappel de ce que je souhaite:
-un ubuntu qui tourne le mieux possible (par exemple si il faut choisir entre ubuntu et windows pour l'utilisation du SSD, je voudrais que ce soit pour ubuntu), avec l'essentiel du stockage
-un windows comme OS secondaire, uniquement pour jouer et parfois utiliser un programme qui a du mal sous ubuntu (doncpas besoin de 500 Go de stockage pour windows.
Pouvez-vous m'aider pour décider comment faire le partitionnage et l'installation? à défaut je me débrouillerai, mais j'ai peur de faire des bêtises car je ne comprends pas vraiment ce que je vois...
Merci pour les idées apportées en tout cas, je n'ai jamais été aussi près de pouvoir installer!

Moi, je te conseillerais de répartir l'installation dans 3 partitions comme ceci : la partition racine de Ubuntu sur le SSD, tandis que la partition /home et la partition swap seraient sur le disque dur.
1) action sur le SSD (/dev/sda) avec Gparted :
- créer une nouvelle table de partition (tu peux la créer en MSDOS*, le type "par défaut" de Gparted)
- créer une partition primaire en format EXT4 qui occupe toute la place sur ce SSD : elle est destinée à devenir la partition racine de Ubuntu.
2) action sur le disque dur (/dev/sdb) :
- depuis Windows, faire maigrir le disque C: de Windows au maximum (voir Redimensionner la partition Windows pour faire de la place à Ubuntu)
- depuis la session Live de Ubuntu :
Avec Gparted : créer sur /dev/sdb une partition swap et une partition au format EXT4 - destinée à devenir la partition /home - dans la place libérée.
3) Lancer l'installation, sélectionner "Autre chose" à l'étape "Type d'installation" et faire l'affectation des 3 partitions préparées en s'aidant de l'"Exemple pratique" de la doc "Installation d'Ubuntu : partitionnement manuel"
Tu n'auras pas à t'occuper de la partition EFI : l'installateur fera automatiquement ce qu'il y a à faire.
EDIT : il y aura un champ "Périphérique où sera installé le programme de démarrage" (on l'aperçoit en bas de la fenêtre de l'installateur) : tu peux laisser ce qui est sélectionné là, quoi que ce soit. Motif : l'installateur n'utilise pas ce qui est sélectionné dans ce champ : il repère tout seul comme un grand la partition EFI qui existe déjà - c'est la partition /dev/sdb1 - et installe tout ce qu'il faut dedans sans que tu aies à t'occuper de rien.
* il n'y a aucune obligation à créer une table de partition de type GPT sur le SSD. Ce n'est pas parce que le type de partitionnement du disque dur est GPT que ce type de partitionnement s'impose sur le SSD.

Bon, après avoir scrupuleusement suivi tes conseil Malbo, tout fonctionne... ou presque!
L'installation s'est bien passée. Le dual boot fonctionne. Le touchpad a refusé de fonctionner un moment, mais est revenu grâce aux conseils donnés ici: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? … st13382949
Problème: je me suis dit qu'il serait bon de suivre le tuto donné dans le post jusqu'au bout. Et à l'étape 9, la dernière commande ("sudo service lightdm restart") a eu un effet... embêtant: L'ordinateur est repassé sur l'écran d'ouverture de la session. Depuis, quand je tape mon code, il semble initier le lancement de la session, puis revient sur l'écran d'ouverture (vous savez, avec ce superbe bruit de tam tam qui devient énervant au bout de la 20è fois). Le redémarrage n'y change rien. Du coup je sens que c'est un tout petit truc, mais en attendant impossible pour moi de faire quoi que ce soit...
Edit: à chaque tentative, une fois le mot de passe entré, la machine affiche un fond d'écran vide environ une seconde, puis une suite de ligne de commandes sur fond noir environ une demi seconde, et enfin revient sur la demande de mot de passe avec le fond d'écran. voilà pour les précisions...

Edit : si mon astuce ne fonctionne pas et si personne n'a d'idée pour te sortir de là, il faudra réinstaller un Ubuntu tout propre, ce qui veut dire : avec Gparted, formater la partition racine et formater la partition /home (afin de les rendre vierges) et refaire l'installation comme la première fois (choix "Autre chose" à l'étape Type d'installation, etc...)

Je fais de mon mieux, mais je ne parviens pas du tout à ouvrir la console. Ni ctr-alt-F1, ni avec F2, F3 etc. J'ai aussi essayer de changer d'autres touches (ctr-maj-F1, super-alt-F1 etc), pas de résultat...
Edit: les tentatives en lançant la version "recovery" d'ubuntu ne marchent pas mieux. Je ne maitrise pas ce mode, donc peut-être que je ne fais pas ce qu'il faut. Le mieux que j'ai réussi à faire c'est accéder à une console "en mode root". Je me suis identifié comme tu l'explique malbo, mais impossible ensuite de supprimer le fichier .Xauthority (le tab ne fait rien, et même en écrivant directement, il me répond "aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type").
Edit 2: Pour celles et ceux qui se prendraient la tête sur mon problème: je viens de relancer complètement l'installation donc le problème devrait être résolu par cette solution radicale...
Edit 3: J'ai réinstallé ubuntu entièrement, et cela semble fonctionner. Je n'ai pas lancé les commandes suggérées en 9 et 10 par le lien évoqué, pour éviter tout problème. Je n'ai cependant aucune idée de l'optimisation des paramètres graphiques, il est donc tout à fait possible que cela plante de nouveau... On verra bien. Si vous avez des idées pour vérifier tout cela, n'hésitez pas. Je posterai dans les prochains jours un récap des manipulations effectuées pour l'installation, avant de passer le sujet en résolu, quitte à en ouvrir un autre si j'ai de nouveau des soucis (à moins que quelqu'un ne réponde d'ici là sur les problèmes graphiques).
