Problème de lenteurs Ubuntu16.04
hello,
je relance le sujet becose j'ai un soucis très similaire.
je suis passé il y a quelques semaines à la version 16.04 d'ubuntu et, au début, je n'ai rien remarqué niveau problème de lenteur.
mais on dirait depuis quelques jours que lorsque je lance plusieurs trucs (mais bien moins qu'il y a seulement quelques jours) en même temps ça rame et rame et rame et rame ...
Pourriez vous m'aider à diagnostiquer le problème ??

Sous les conseils d'un ami,
j'ai jeté un œil au fichier
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
constat: il n'y avait quasi rien comme info dans le fichier (nvidia pas mentionnée) ... oups
Croyez vous que ce soit à l'origine des soucis de lenteur ??
(dans ce cas qu'est ce qui pourrait expliquer pourquoi les lenteurs sont apparues subitement?)
Pour modifier le fichier xorg.conf
=> j'ai lancé la commande
sudo nvidia-xconfig
qui a créé un fichier basique dont le contenu est

1) Pour automatiser la purge hebdomadaire des noyaux excédentaires (tu en as plein en de trop), en ne gardant que les deux plus récents,
passe les six dernières commandes de ce message de nany ./viewtopic.php?pid=21300891#p21300891.
Ça ne résoudra pas ton problème mais ça t'en évitera un autre.
2) Pour ton souci actuel,
Juste après un démarrage lent, fais
cat /var/log/dmesg > dmesg-$(date +%Y%m%d).txt
Puis tu iras chercher dans ton home le fichier ainsi créé, dont le nom commencera par "dmesg-" suivi de la date, et tu nous colleras ici son contenu (toujours entre balises).
3) Mais je pense que michel_04 t'a donné l'explication dès le début :
Unity demande plus qu'un Go de ram et tu aurais tout intérêt à faire une installation fraîche de Lubuntu, après sauvegarde de tes données sur un support externe.

pour répondre à ta question, j'ai la toute dernière version de xds car il n'y a que celle là qui fonctionne. Il s'agit d'un logiciel d'indexation de donnée cristallo. Je l'utilise depuis déjà très longtemps et j'ai jusqu'il y a peu pu l'utiliser seul (1 seul xds) ou plusieurs (lancement de plusieurs job) sans que ça ne m'empêche totalement d'utiliser l'interface graphique. Oui c'est sur qu'il est gourmand et ralenti le système mais il ne le bloque pas comme maintenant.
=> ma question pourquoi maintenant cela pose t'il un tel problème

Si oui, retour à 14.04
Si non, démarre sur ton noyau le plus ancien pour voir si le problème serait dû à une mauvaise compatibilité entre xds et les noyaux récents de ta xenial.

un petit topo
au final grub-customizer n'était pas très utile ...
j'ai rebooté en appuyant sur maj durant le démarrage pour voir le grub.
Dans le grub j'ai tenté de charger
d'abord la version 4.4.0-24-generic
puis
plus tard (dans un deuxième essai) la version 3.13.0-88-generic
(pour rappel la version actuelle est la version 4.4.0-28-generic)
Deux tentatives sans succès ...
Dans les deux cas j'arrive à la page de login du user mais il y a un problème (la page de log a un aspect bizarre, très agrandie) et je n'arrive pas à entrer dans la session ...
bref
je ne parviens pas à tester une version antérieur du noyau ...

J'ai déjà vu passer ce genre de question, mais j'ai oublié la réponse.

Il y a quand même un truc bizarre, qui pourrait en partie expliquer un éventuel ralentissement :

Avec 6 Go ( !) de ram à peu près entièrement utilisée, il y a en plus 2.7 Go de "choses" en swap ! Personnellement, ça me paraît colossal. Si on compte 1 Go de logiciel, système compris, grand maximum, on a donc près de 8 Go de données ! Il me semble quand même que là, la cristallographie à bon dos...
Tiens, pour du cubique, de l'indexation manuelle :

Avec 6 Go ( !) de ram à peu près entièrement utilisée, il y a en plus 2.7 Go de "choses" en swap ! Personnellement, ça me paraît colossal. Si on compte 1 Go de logiciel, système compris, grand maximum, on a donc près de 8 Go de données ! Il me semble quand même que là, la cristallographie à bon dos...

mais que puis je faire pour identifier ce qui coince ?
j'ai vu des discussions sur la mauvaise reconnaissance du SWAP
ça pourrait être quelque chose comme ça ?
