Système en rade après une mise à jour
MAJ : après la réinstallation d'Ubuntu suite à une mise-à-jour problématique, je me retrouve avec une résolution très faible (640x480) et sans possibilité (depuis l'interface) de la modifier.
Comment puis-je corriger cela ?

Bonjour,
Lundi, mon système s'est mis-à-jour et depuis quand je le lance, je tombe sur l'écran de Login (alors que j'avais configuré le système afin que je me logue automatiquement).
Et après avoir indiqué mon mot de passe, il semble se connecter, j'ai un écran totalement noir et je reviens à l'écran de login.
Il me propose aussi de me connecter comme Invité et j'ai exactement le même problème..
Si lors du boot je me mets en mode récupération, je me connecte ne mode terminal pur, j'arrive sans problème à me loguer.
Comment puis je savoir ce qui ne va pas ?

Je te prie de démarrer ton ordi sur une LiveUSB ou un LiveDVD de Ubuntu et faire une session Live : choix "Essayer Ubuntu" (Try Ubuntu without installing). Depuis la session live, fais un Boot-Info et donne l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

Quel version du système as-tu ?
je tombe sur l'écran de Login
Si tu es en mode graphique arrives tu à te connecter en tant qu'invité ?

Alors c'est un version Ubuntu 16.04.
Si je me logue comme invité j'ai exactement le même comportement que si je tente de me connecter avec mon login et mot de passe.
Je n'ai ni LiveUSB, ni LiveDVD

Bonsoir.
Prévois donc de fabriquer une liveUSB c'est ton assurance que quoiqu'il arrive, ubuntu sera réinstallé rapidement (30 minutes)

Peux tu te logger en mode console ?
Au moment ou gdm apparait (avec la liste des utilisateurs), tu tapes ctrl+alt+F1 pour passer en mode console puis taper ton login (vérifier clavier azerty) puis ton mot de passe.
Si tu arrives à te connecter (avoir un prompt user@machine:~$) alors il est possible que tu aies un problème de place sur le disque.
Dans ce cas que donne
df -h
(espace disponible)
ls -al /boot
ls -al
PC fixe sous Bionic 64 bits et portable avec Focal 64 bits

Bon maintenant j'arrive à me connecter (et j'écris depuis le poste que je veux réparer).
Par contre j'ai une résolution minable (640x480) et je n'ai pas d'autre choix dans la liste des différentes résolutions.
J'ouvre un autre fil ou bien ?

Déjà, tu pourrais indiquer comment tu es parvenu à te connecter (tu as prié beaucoup ou bien tu as fait quelques actions que tu peux expliquer ?), ce serait sympa pour ceux qui essaient de comprendre ton problème.
A mon avis, ce n'est pas utile de créer une nouvelle discussion : tu peux te contenter de demander le déplacement de la discussion dans la rubrique "Affichage et cartes graphiques" (clic sur "Signaler aux modérateurs" en rouge, en bas à droite du post)
