ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ cat /proc/cmdline
file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.lz quiet splash ---  nomodeset debian-installer/language=fr keyboard-configuration/layoutcode?=fr keyboard-configuration/variantcode?=oss
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$

=================== Suggested repair
The default repair of the Boot-Repair utility would purge (in order to) and reinstall the grub2 of sda1 into the MBR of sda.
Additional repair would be performed: unhide-bootmenu-10s

=================== User settings
The settings chosen by the user will not act on the boot.

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="nomodeset"

BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-4.8.0-36-generic root=UUID=55e0e0b9-924a-4977-9dfb-b5bde566387d ro nomodeset quiet splash

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ cat /proc/cmdline
file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.lz quiet splash --  nomodeset debian-installer/language=fr keyboard-configuration/layoutcode?=fr keyboard-configuration/variantcode?=oss
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$

=================== Suggested repair
The default repair of the Boot-Repair utility would reinstall the grub2 of sda1 into the MBR of sda.
Additional repair would be performed: unhide-bootmenu-10s

=================== User settings
The settings chosen by the user will not act on the boot.
