Procédure de troubleshooting
Bonjour,
Pour éviter une maintenance trop lourde, j'ai converti le PC familial à Xubuntu et les gosses ont fini par s'y faire !
Hélas, j'ai des problèmes intempestifs : le PC gèle et seul un appui long sur le bouton M/A permet de rattraper le bouzin. Evidemment, en perdant tout travail en cours, les index des précieuses vidéos en cours de visionnage, etc. :-)
Etant novice sur le système Ubuntu, je ne sais pas du tout quels sont les outils et les procédures qui me permettraient de trouver ce qui cloche : driver ? appli système en tâche de fond ? voire alim du PC ?
Quels conseils me donneriez vous pour réaliser un troubleshooting dans l'état de l'art ? Y a-t-il des logs quelconques que je pourrais exploiter après un crash ?

Non, je parle de la poussière physique ! Un ordi plein de poussière peut chauffer et geler. Donc il faut le nettoyer !
Par ailleurs, Xubuntu embarque un truc que je vire dans tous mes tutos : light locker
Passe un
sudo apt remove light-locker
Ça peut avoir un rapport avec ton souci, mais dans tous les cas on est mieux sans
Tu peux aussi installer le microcode intel :
sudo apt install intel-microcode
Tu as beaucoup de noyaux, on va nettoyer un peu :
sudo apt autoremove
Tu as également pas mal de PPA, les connais-tu ?
Redonne :
ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d -1
@tarkan99, vois-tu d'autres pistes ? je ne suis pas très versé en dual boot : la cohabitation W$/Xub est-elle bien organisée ? ?

le dual boot n'a pas d'influence sur les freeze.
pour light-locker, je te trouve un peu dur. je n'ai rien à lui reprocher et avec un PC multi compte, difficile de s'en passer, non ?

AVANT d'effectuer les préconisations de nam, peux-tu ajouter dans le fichier
/etc/default/grub
via
gksu mousepad /etc/default/grub
(installer gksu via
sudo apt install gksu)
intel_idle.max_cstate=1 dans la ligne
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
qui doit donc devenir
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash intel_idle.max_cstate=1"
puis
sudo update-grub
suivi d'un redémarrage.
je conseille de faire des copier collé (ne pas recopier le texte).

Merci nam1962 ! J'ai nettoyé selon tes instructions, tout s'est passé correctement, sauf l'installation du microcode qui était visiblement déjà à jour...

Pourquoi veux tu garder une partition W$ ?
@tarkan99, perso et chez mes installés, je n'ai rencontré que des soucis et... des incompréhensions du fonctionnement de light-locker (je m'amuse à leur installer xscreensaver avec BSOD, c'est plus rigolo ! )

@nam1962 : je n'ai aucun besoin de la partition W$, j'ai dû merdé en installant, contrairement à ce que j'indiquais dans mon message précédent : dois-je la supprimer ? Si OUI, comment le faire proprement et sans risque pour Ubuntu ?
Pour ma culture personnelle : que fait (faisait) Light-locker ? Je ne me rappelle pas avoir installé ce truc, ou alors la sénilité me guette... ;-)

tarkan99 a raison sur le fait de ne pas tout bouger, mais on a déjà corrigé plusieurs choses
Light locker s'installe avec Xubuntu et est censé gérer les mises en veille.
Pour la partition W$, à priori ça peut tenir, si tu continue à avoir des caprices de ton ordi, on pourra tout virer lors d'une réinstallation en passant par "autre chose", mais il n'y a peut être pas urgence !

@tarkan, tu as raison de préparer une facturation progressive, c'est moins douloureux pour le patient
Côté gestion utilisateurs, ça ne m'a jamais manqué (et je maintiens que xscreensaver est plus rigolo )
