Ubuntu lent à charger
Bonjour à tous,
je ne sais pas si mon sujet est bien placé. En fait, je suis sur Ubuntu depuis quelques années mais ces derniers temps mon ordinateur rame. Alors je ne sais pas si cela vient de la version 16.04 qui serait gourmande en mémoire, si cela vient de l'équipement de mon ordi trop limité... J'avais tout réinstallé en partitionnant pour le swap comme lu sur le forum pour essayer d'optimiser les performances.
Ce qui est lent, c'est au démarrage d'Ubuntu, le bureau est long à charger, l'ouverture d'internet (chromium), de tous les logiciels... et à certains moments mon ordi va ramer pendant quelques temps. Il ne gère pas l'utilisation aussi de plusieurs logiciels en même temps.
Je cherche de l'aide pour savoir d'où vient ce problème de lenteur! Merci beaucoup!

depuis la 16.04, unity bouffe pas mal en ressource (ça consomme moins sur la 17.04)
passe sur la 17.04 ou change d'environnement et passe a xfce par exemple

Salut !
pour être plus précis, 2gb de RAM c'est un peu juste pour unity.
après avoir lancer tes logiciels, peux-tu donner le retour de
mem -h
ainsi que
top
(en utilisant les balises codes <>)
xubuntu 16.04.1 serait plus adapté. Mais les 2 Gb de RAM seront toujours une limite.
2 Gb de plus et une version 64bits de xubuntu feront la différence.

free -h
je vois très peu de logiciels sous ta session. Chromium ouvert ou pas ?
lance bien toutes les appli que tu souhaites utiliser "en même temps" avant d'exécuter free -h

utilise un navigateur plus léger comme palemoon (firefox allégé)

le résultat de mem est sans appel : là, il reste 70M de RAM. C'est vraiment trop juste, surtout pour unity.
Le swap est utilisé (816M), pour palier au manque de mémoire, mais le swap est sur disque, donc bien plus lent que la RAM.
sans ajouter 2Gb minimum de RAM, tu vas difficilement augmenter les perf.
surtout le CPU n'est pas à la "ramasse".
peux-tu fournir un rapport bisnext (état disque, etc....)

oui de manière général, unity ça pompe pas mal
essaye xfce
je le fais tourner tranquille chez moi sur une 16.04 avec celeron m 1.7 ghz + 1.5go de ram + nvidia geforce 710, donc chez toi ça tournera tranquille

lance le rapport bisnext avant, pour voir s'il y a pas d'autres soucis avant de lancer un installation de zero.
et prend bien l'ISO 16.04.1 32 bits de xubuntu si tu gardes 2 gb ou bien la 64 bits si tu comptes ajouter 2 Gb.

pas de soucis particulier, le disque sain.
tu étais déjà en 16.04.1, donc aucun soucis à prévoir avec xubuntu 16.04.1
tous les pilotes sont les mêmes que ubuntu.
y plus qu'à faire ton choix entre 32 et 64 bits, comme indiqué en #11 !

Ce qui change en version 32 bits par rapport au 64 bits, c'est à l'utilisation de la ram et processeur? mais en soi, ca ne change rien dans mon utilisation?

Bon choix
La version 32 bits consomme un peu moins de RAM. Et l'immense majorité des logiciels est disponible en 32 bits donc pas de changements majeurs dans ton utilisation.

La version 32 bits consomme un peu moins de RAM. Et l'immense majorité des logiciels est disponible en 32 bits donc pas de changements majeurs dans ton utilisation.
Chrome/ium ça n'existe pas en 32 bits il me semble

Retour après une journée d'utilisation! Donc installation xubuntu en 32 bits, c'est plus fluide en effet!
Après j'ai remis chromium car en fait je fais beaucoup de chose avec mon compte google...
Hier, l'ordi a bien ramé avec chromium ouvert et lorsque j'ai branché mon disque dur externe de 2To... En utilisant juste chromium, ca va à part quelques sites lourds en images qui sont long à charger...
Ce ralentissement, c'est lié à mes seuls 2go de RAM?

Une astuce que j'utilise. Installer le moniteur de charge système qui t'affiche l'occupation du CPU, de la RAM et du SWAP : Clic droit sur le tableau de bord de XFCE, ajouter des greffons, moniteur de charge système.
Tu y verras la charge globale de ton PC. Quand les RAM sont saturées et que le SWAP commence à se remplir, c'est que l'OS en demande trop au PC. (Et Xubuntu a beau utiliser XFCE, il reste gourmand... )

Tu y verras la charge globale de ton PC. Quand les RAM sont saturées et que le SWAP commence à se remplir, c'est que l'OS en demande trop au PC. (Et Xubuntu a beau utiliser XFCE, il reste gourmand... )
J'ai installé le moniteur de charge système suivant ton conseil Caribou22! En fait ma RAM est toujours utilisée à plus de 60% en utilisation minimale de mon ordi... donc ca sature très vite!

Les 2 go sont clairement une limite.
Modifie le swapiness pour que le swap soit utilisé le plus tard possible via
echo vm.swappiness=10 | sudo tee /etc/sysctl.d/99-swappiness.conf

Alors tu peux tenter de raboter ta Xubuntu en utilisant des logiciels plus légers, ou passer à Lubuntu 32 bitsqui rabotera un peu plus la consommation de RAM.
Mais personnellement (mon seul avis donc), je serais passé à Debian qui consomme beaucoup moins et tourne sans problème sur des configs à moins de 1 Go de RAM.
