J'ai un problème de démarrage lié à ma carte graphique faisant l'objet de la discussion : "Ubuntu 12.04 ne démarre plus suite à un problème de carte graphique" que j'ai posté hier à 20h56. J'ai constaté plus haut que le fichier   /etc/X11/xorg.conf n'existe pas sous ubuntu 12.04 (mon système).
Pour ce qui concerne le fichier /var/log/Xorg.0.log je l'ai bien trouvé. Il est très long (plusieurs écrans)et le micro en panne ne démarrant plus, il n'est pas connecté. Je dois donc copier ce fichier sur une clé USB et l'insérer dans mon message à partir de l'ordi que j'utilise actuellement qui fonctionne sous Windows.
Ma question : quelle est la forme du chemin vers la clé USB a indiquer dans la commande cp?

J'ai un problème avec mon PC. je faisais la mise à jour et à la fin j'ai perdu les le lanceur, la barre de menu qui contient le calendrier, la date, le niveau de batterie etc..;. L'ordinateur est devenu presque inutilisable. Alors que peux je faire? Dois je tout formater et installer un nouveau système? J'utilise Ubuntu 12.04LTS.

un nouveau post spécifiquement dédié à ce problème serait tout indiqué.
sinon première chose à faire, connecte toi avec une session invitée : si celle ci est normale il faudra supprimer les paramètres personnalisés de ta session.

J'ai un problème de résolution d'affichage : la résolution habituelle (1920x1080) est passée depuis 15 jrs environ en 1024x768. Voir mon post que j'ai complété à 2 reprises. Comme dit dans le 2nd complément à mon post je continue à chercher une solution à ce problème, mais si un membre du forum a une ou des idées ... merci par avance !

J'ai un problème de résolution, l'image dépasse légèrement de mon écran (moins d'1cm de chaque cotés, à l'horizontale comme à la verticale).
J'ai essayé ce tuto http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/configurer_son_ecran_old mais ma version xubuntu (15.04) est trop récente et je n'ai pas de fichier xorg.conf
j'ai ensuite essayé celui-la http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/resolution_ecran_avance pour créer une résolution adaptée à mon écran mais à l'étape "xrandr --addmode" ça me répond "X Error of failed request:  BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)"

voici les manipulations que j'ai effectuées:

Question:
Sous windows 10, je joue(ais) à un jeu en ligne du nom de ELVENAR.
Lorsque je vais (sous UBUNTU) dans mon navigateur FIREFOX et essaie d'ouvrir ELVENAR, cela commence bien jusqu'au moment ou une fenêtre s'ouvre avec ce message
"Pas possible, problème avec "CONTEX 3D" et l'ouverture du jeu s'arrête.

J'ai acheté, il y a quelques jours le DVD ubuntu MATE 16.04LTS, j'ai pu l'installer facilement sur un portable ACER 3000-3003WLMi sous Windows XP acquis en août 2005.
Tout irait bien si je ne rencontrai un problème d'affichage bloqué à 640x480 pixels avec le message "Ecran inconnu".
Sous Windows XP l'affichage de ce PC est de 1280x800 pixels.
Je ne sais comment résoudre ce problème, et en plus, je ne sais comment fournir ce que vous demandez pour résoudre mes problèmes, les fichiers :
/etc/X11/xorg.conf  (c' est le fichier de configuration du serveur d' affichage X)
/var/log/Xorg.0.log (c' est le dernier journal de démarrage de la session graphique; IL EST TRÉS UTILE)
Ubuntu étant inutilisable dans l'état actuel, je serais très heureux de trouver la solution à ce problème, qui doit provenir d'un driver inadapté à cette configuration.

Donc, pour obtenir une aide efficace,
il est judicieux de lire et d'appliquer le 1er message, que je me permets de rappeler ici :

Savez-vous comment installer les drivers Intel UHD 620 avec Ubuntu 18.04 LTS sur un GigaByte GB-BRi5H-8250

La chipset gère bien deux écrans 4K, mais 1 seul 2k est pris en charge après installation, et update du dernier noyau avec Ubuntu Kernel Upgrade Utility (j'ai utilisé cet utilitaire en pensant que mettre à niveau le noyau allait résoudre le prb de driver).

Pour celles et ceux qui souhaite un affichage "propre" avec la résolution correcte.
A l'installation, remarquer que si l'affichage est correct il est inutile de charger un pilote propriétaire; celui-ci pourrait nuire à l'affichage correct qui était celui à l'installation.
C'est juste une question d'expérience.
