Conflit optimus nvidia-nouveau-i915

Bonjour,

mon install :
- lenovo legion y520-151kbn
- kubuntu 18.04.1 (64, uefi)
- optimus (intel+nvidia)

mon installation précédente : 16.04 fonctionnée correctement malgré quelques bugs, suite à la sortie de 18.04.1 je refais une clean install :
installation de kubuntu 18.04.1, installation des pilotes propriétaires nvidia 390 (nvidia gtx 1050 2g) (prime)
première install foireuse : plusieurs minutes pour démarrer et pareil pour extinction, bug graphique, ...., installation avec nomodest (test du bureau)
seconde install : plutôt fonctionnelle démarrage : 23s par contre il faut plusieurs minutes pour éteindre l'ordinateur, installation directe par l'installateur sans nomodeset (redémarrage fonctionnelle sous intel)

je pense à un problème lié aux pilotes nvidia et nouveau mais sans certitude

des erreurs au sujet de nouveau apparaissent, la précédente install j'avais supprimer le paquet xorg-nouveau sans resultat

de plus sous 16.04 mon autonomie était de 4h sous intel et 2h sous nvidia, aujourd'hui (18.04) autonomie sous intel 2h comme si le basculement dans nvidia setting onglet prime position intel suivi d'un reboot n'éteignait pas la carte nvidia,

peut-être une fausse piste? y-a-t-il un log relatif à l'extinction? parce que plusieurs minutes pour éteindre.... alors que sous 16.04 quelques secondes...

si besoin de plus d'info ou des pistes de recherches

on dirait que le pilote intel i915 est chargé ainsi que le pilote nouveau, alors que les pilotes propriétaires sont installés et que seul intel utilisé (prime)
peut-être la source du conflit à l'extinction et problème autonomie


edit : il semble que ce soit un bug connu https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1765363 mais je ne comprends pas les différentes solutions de contournement

edit2 : changement de titre (ancien titre : extreme lenteur à extinction sous 18.04.1)

edit3 : sous une session nvidia le démarrage et l’arrêt sont très rapides mais le tearing de l'image rend l'utilisation du portable désagréable encore plus que sous 16.04 ce qui est dommage aux vu des capacités du pc et de la regression par rapport à 16.04

edit4 : modérateurs pourriez-vous, s'il-vous plaît déplacer mon poste dans la section "affichage et cartes graphiques" qui semble plus adapté au problème rencontré : conflit optimus et autonomie, merci

si d'autres personnes sont dans ma situation, à mon avis une bonne partie des possesseurs d'ordi avec optimus j'ai retrouvé un pc fonctionnel : démarrage-arrêt, sans freeze, lag, ou bugs et avec une autonomie correcte en désactivant dans le bios la carte graphique nvidia : remplacer discrète par UMA only (sous lenovo y520) (seul la puce intel sera disponible)
j'espère que cela sera une solution provisoire en attendant une mise à jour salvatrice (kernel, pilotes propriétaires, nouveau et prime) et peut-être un jour l'arrivée tant attendue d'une gestion transparente d'optimus sous linux

c'est vrai, dans mon cas j'ai le choix entre nvidia+intel ou seulement intel, d'autres on le choix en plus nvidia seul au bon vouloir des constructeurs-assembleurs
j'espère qu'une mise à jour arrivera bientôt, je ne connais pas vraiment le fonctionnement de launchpad mais le bug est confirmé mais pas assigné, cela signifie t ii que personne ne le traite actuellement?

une autre solution est de reinstaller 16.04.x qui supporte mieux optimus, pour l'instant 18.04.1 est une régression sur le support d'optimus

Non, la 18.04 ne gère pas moins bien Optimus que la 16.04 ! c'est exactement pareil !
Si tu as un soucis, il est ailleurs.

Les choses sont simples à comprendre :

- Tu actives le pilote propriétaire Nvidia puis tu reboot

ça sera ta carte graphique Nvidia qui sera utilisé (avec le pilote propriétaire), si tu veux basculer sur le Chipset Intel, tu vas dans le panel Nvidia et tu sélectionnes "Intel", tu reboot et tu seras avec le carte Intel.

ça a toujours fonctionné comme ça et c'est toujours le cas sur la 18.04.

De mon coté (sur les conseil de GammaDraconis) j'ai tenté le noyau 4.17 (via Ukuu) et le pilote 396 sous Ubuntu 18.04.1 fraîchement installé, toujours le même bug de sortie de veille qui plante complètement mon portable HP.
Il y a d'autres avis sur la façon dont la version 18.04 gère l'énergie et les cartes graphiques ici  (lire jusqu'au bas de la page...)
En attendant, aucune idée si ma carte graphique consomme toujours, même si désactivée dans le bios

@GammaDraconis, je faisais fonctionner optimus comme tu l'indiques sous 16.04 : installation des pilotes propriétaires, prime pour le basculement de l'une à l'autre avec reboot sans soucis : résultat autonomie de 4h sous intel et lorsque nvidia activé et sous tension : 2h
sous 18.04.1 le basculement avec prime sous intel ou nvidia autonomie de 2h et conso de 20w dans tous les cas, en ayant désactivé la carte nvidia dans le bios autonomie de 4h et conso inf 10w, il me semble bien que même nvidia "éteinte" dans prime la carte reste tout de même sous tension comme on peut le voir sur les retours de commandes précédentes le pilote nouveau est chargé alors que seul intel utilisé et nvidia désactivé.
De plus le rapport de bug sur launchpad montre bien que ce n'est pas un cas isolé. Peut-être que tous les ordinateurs sous optimus ne sont pas concernés par ce bug en fonction des cartes graphiques ?
Je veux bien prospecté une autre voie et suis dispo pour des test s'il faut, et si tu as des conseils pour isolé le problème

@lopasilver, une asso? bonne idée car quel dommage d'avoir une machine relativement performante sans pouvoir utilisé toutes ses capacités...
Pour la consommation d'énergie la différence d'autonomie va du simple au double lorsque je désactive dans le bios et est comparable à optimus sous 16.04, dans mon cas je pense quelle est éteinte et de plus le pilote nouveau n'est plus chargé au démarrage dans ce cas la, ton lien me confirme bien qu'il y a un bug pour les cartes serie 10XX et que les symptômes coïncident notamment pour la gestion de l'énergie et les freezes

En relisant ton message je me suis rendu compte dans ta signature que tu possède également un Lenovo légion y520, si à l'occasion tu peux installer un (k)ubuntu 18.04.1 tu pourrais confirmer ou non la situation avec ce type de modèle et la procédure décrite
