Bonjour,

J'envisage d'acquérir un ultraportable Asus ZenBook UX333FN-A4036T et y installer en double boot Ubuntu.
Quelqu'un parmi vous l'a-t-il déjà fait ? Et ce portable tourne-t-il correctement sous Ubuntu ?

Bonjour,
La version 18.04.2 64 bits (*) de Ubuntu qui va sortir dans 2 jours saura gérer ce modèle visible sur cette page. Je m'appuie sur ce test d'un autre modèle mais équipé du même processeur Intel Core i7-8565U : https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page= … 9380&num=1

(*) cette nouvelle version sera équipée du même noyau et de la même gestion graphique que Ubuntu 18.10. Du coup, la 18.10 - qui ne sera plus maintenue après juillet 2019 - n'a aucun intérêt.

J'ai donné le lien vers le test du Dell XPS 13 9380 par rapport au processeur. Par contre, je ne sais pas si Ubuntu peut gérer le tactile multitouch sur ce modèle Dell XPS 13 9380.

Concernant l'ASUS, la carte graphique est double : NVIDIA GeForce MX150, Intel UHD Graphics 620
La NVIDIA est documentée dans le forum et l'Intel est la même que celle du Dell.
Donc normalement, cela ne pose pas de problème sous Ubuntu.

Je suis proche de franchir le pas pour l'ASUS.
Mon idée serait de flinguer Windows après avoir validé la licence et créé un lecteur USB de récupération.
Comme ça, si l'installation d'Ubuntu ne devait pas être viable sur cet ultraportable, je pourrai toujours restaurer Windows.
Un clef de 32 gigas suffit ?
Qu'en pensez-vous ?
Il me reste 8 heures pour faire l'achat avant expiration de la vente flash.

Après création du lecteur USB de récupération, je te conseillerais de conserver Windows 10 et d'installer Ubuntu 18.04.2 64 bits en cohabitation avec Windows 10 afin de prendre tout le temps nécessaire pour t'assurer que Ubuntu te permet bien de profiter de toutes les fonctionnalité de ta machine. C'est seulement après cette étape que tu referais toute l'installation en écrasant tout ce qu'il y a sur le SSD pour installer Ubuntu tout seul sur le SSD.

Sur le site de Darty, l'ASUS est un peu moins cher et confirme que le clavier est AZERTY (ce qui n'était pas mentionné sur le site de la FNAC).
De plus, il n'est pas disponible en magasin FNAC, alors qu'il l'est en magasin DARTY.

J'ai passé avec succès les premières étapes Windows 10 et j'ai créé un lecteur de récupération sur clé USB (environ 10 gigas).

Bonjour,
Si tu parviens à démarrer une session live en utilisant le paramètre de noyau nomodeset comme je t'ai indiqué dans le post #17, avant de lancer l'installation proprement dite de Ubuntu, je te recommande de faire de la place en suivant les indications du paragraphe 3. Redimensionner la partition Windows pour faire de la place à Ubuntu de la doc "Repartitionner un disque déjà équipé d'un système d'exploitation".

Bonjour malbo,
N'ayant pas compris le rôle du paramètre nomodeset, je ne l'ai pas paramétré.
J'ai tenté une installation d'Ubuntu 18.04.2 après avoir réglé Secure Boot et Fast Boot en disabled, démarré sur la clé USB et testé en live.
Le son ne marche pas, le pavé numérique sur le touchpad non plus.
J'ai utilisé l'utilitaire disque pour réduire la partition Windows - lui laissant 127 gigas - et créer une partition destinée à Ubuntu de 360 gigas.
L'installation a échoué, après les écrans habituels, sur une erreur disque (il serait peut-être défectueux) lors de l'installation proprement dite.
Peut-être l'installation a-t-elle tenté d'écrire sur la partition de restauration.
J'ai pu redémarrer, clé USB retirée, et Windows n'a pas l'air d'avoir souffert. La nouvelle partition est apparemment inchangée.
Je ne sais pas quoi faire, à part tenter une nouvelle installation.
Faut-il formater la nouvelle partition ?

Pour ne pas buter sur le même problème comme un insecte sur une vitre en refaisant plusieurs tentatives ratées d'installation, ce serait utile de tenter de comprendre ce qui se passe aussi je te prie de démarrer une session live sur ta LiveUSB et de faire un Boot-Info depuis cette session live. Tu donneras l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

Please do not forget to make your BIOS boot on nvme0n1p1/efi/.../grub*.efi file!

If your computer reboots directly into Windows, try to change the boot order in your BIOS.
If your BIOS does not allow to change the boot order, change the default boot entry of the Windows bootloader.
For example you can boot into Windows, then type the following command in an admin command prompt:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\...\grub*.efi


=================== User settings
The settings chosen by the user will not act on the boot.

Le malaise est visible dans cet extrait (c'est dans la partie "PARTITIONS & DISKS") :

nvme0n1p5	: nvme0n1,	not-sepboot,	no-grubenv	grub2,	grub-pc

cela signifie que tu as fait l'installation depuis une session Live démarrée en mode non-EFI (mode "Bios" classique) et de ce fait l'installation de Ubuntu a été faite dans ce mode non-EFI alos qu'il aurait fallu la faire dans le mode EFI.
Tu peux tenter la "Réparation recommandée" de Boot-Repair parce que le descriptif de ce qu'elle prétend réaliser est correct comme on peut voir dans cet autre extrait :

Si j'ai bien compris, j'ai tenté d'installer Ubuntu en mode Bios non-EFI, parce que j'ai créé la clé de démarrage depuis mon autre poste Ubuntu qui n'a jamais connu Windows mais seulement Ubuntu, et donc en mode Bios ?

J'ai bien compris que Windows étant présent sur le disque de l'Asus, il faut rester en mode EFI.

Quelles sont les possibilités ?
Je ne peux pas réinstaller Ubuntu, cette fois en mode EFI, c'est trop tard ?
Sinon, puis-je appliquer la réparation recommandée depuis le boot-info en liveUSB Ubuntu, ou bien faut-il obligatoirement passer par une liveUSB avec une iso de Boot-Repair-Disk ? le fil de discussion à ce sujet n'est pas rassurant, je trouve.

Bon je vais tenter de mieux expliquer ce que je propose :
1) tu vas redémarrer en session live sur ta LiveUSB comme tu l'as fait pour faire le Boot-Info
2) depuis la session live, tu vas mettre en pratique le paragraphe 2.3 Vérifier si l'ordinateur démarre en mode EFI sur le disque dur (ou sur le support Live) de la doc "Ordinateurs avec UEFI (~EFI)", c'est à dire que tu vas passer la commande suivante dans un terminal (n'essaie pas de la taper, utilise le copier-coller) :

[ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo "Session EFI" || echo "Session non-EFI"

Si le résultat de cette commande donne "Session non-EFI", ce n'est pas la peine de continuer la procédure. Par contre, si le résultat est "Session EFI", c'est bon et tu peux passer à l'item suivant.
3) installer Boot-Repair et faire la "Réparation recommandée" de Boot-Repair.
