Boot normal impossible : seul recovery fonctionne [RESOLU]

Bonjour,
Je suis en dual boot avec Xubuntu 20.04.1 et Windows 10.
Depuis quelque temps, le système ne veut plus démarrer sur Xubuntu.
Je dois donc soit :
- démarrer sur windows et de là, via les paramètres je peux faire redémarrer sur xubuntu
- démarrer xubuntu en mode recovery et là lancer boot-repair, puis redémarrer normalement du xubuntu.

Il faut ajouter le caractère # en tête de la ligne pour qu'elle soit considérée comme un commentaire. Ainsi, elle ne sera pas prise en compte par le système.

Je suis en mode recovery car démarrage mode normal impossible.
J'ai fait un chown sur /etc
Je constate dans "propriétés" que j'ai accès en lecture et écriture mais par sur fstab.
Comment obtenir la permission de modifier fstab ?
Très compliqué ces permissions pour l'utilisateur lambda...

Comment obtenir la permission de modifier fstab ?

Le principe est présenté dans le paragraphe 5. Sous Xubuntu (Xfce) de la doc "Comment modifier un fichier ?".
Adaptée à ton cas, la commande à passer pour modifier le fichier fstab avec l'éditeur de texte Mousepad est la suivante :

pkexec mousepad /etc/fstab

Ton mot de passe sera demandé juste après.
Après que tu auras "commenté" la ligne en question, il ne faudra pas oublier d'enregistrer avant de quitter l'éditeur de texte.

On voit que tu as supprimé la ligne indésirable dans le fichier fstab. Je note que ça ne règle pas ton problème. Je ne sais pas quoi te proposer pour résoudre ça.

Tout ça a commencé juste après une mise-à-jour de Thunderbird. Bizarre quand même.
Le boot-repair ne fonctionne donc pas ici. Naufrage en vue...
D'après toi, faudrait-il que je lance une nouvelle bouteille à la mer ?

J'ai tenté et réussi un redémarrage "normal" via les paramètres de windows et ça a fonctionné !

Je ne suis pas du tout sûr que ce soit le cas pour ton modèle mais j'ai vu que pour certains portables du fabricant Medion, il est possible d'accéder au Boot Menu en pressant (ou en tapotant, je ne sais pas) la touche F8 au démarrage de l'ordi. Cela permet d'avoir plusieurs possibilités de démarrage et parmi les choix proposés par le Boot Menu, tu devrais trouver "Windows Boot Manager" et "ubuntu". J'ai écrit "tu devrais" parce que dans les ordis dont le Bios est verrouillé par le fabricant, l'option "ubuntu" n’apparaît pas et seul le choix pour Windows est proposé. Peux-tu essayer cette astuce avec F8 et raconter si tu parviens ou pas à démarrer sur Ubuntu par ce moyen ?

Dès l'allumage, sans actionner de touche, dans le boot menu j'ai le choix :
-ubuntu
-options avancées (ubuntu recovery)
-windows.
Depuis le  début des ces problèmes, la plupart du temps, choisir ubuntu ne donne rien : écran noir
Quand je choisis recovery, je prends l'option "restaurer grub" et je demande le redémarrage normal. Parfois ça va, parfois pas et ça revient en recovery...
Quand je choisis Windows > paramètres > sécurité > réparer > choix de redémarrer via ubuntu. Idem, parfois ça va, parfois pas...
Je n'ose relancer le PC maintenant car j'en ai besoin toute la journée, on verra demain matin.

Je suis toujours dans la panade avec Grub bien qu'hier j'ai enfin eu un démarrage normal après de nombreux essais. Bizarre.
Je suis en mode recovery donc limité.
CI-dessous quelques infos fournies lors du passage en mode recovery.

Depuis quelque temps, le système ne veut plus démarrer sur Xubuntu.
Je dois donc soit :
- démarrer sur windows et de là, via les paramètres je peux faire redémarrer sur xubuntu
- démarrer xubuntu en mode recovery et là lancer boot-repair, puis redémarrer normalement du xubuntu.

En lisant bien ce que tu décris, il me semble que toute la partie de boot déclarée EFI fonctionne parfaitement bien
Peux-tu confirmer qu'à chaque fois, tu as le menu dual-bot te proposant soit de booter windows soit de booter ubuntu.

Second point,  Je comprends que tu lances le boot-repair  sous le contrôle de recovery.

Troisième point, A part dire:  "cela ne marche pas",  il n'y a pas tellement d'explication de ce qui se passe ou ne se passe pas

1) En mode recovery, lorsque tu choisis resume, que se passe-t-il ?
2)  Comment se fait-il que tu ne disposes que d'un seul noyau et pas de la version moins 1 ?

3) Lorsque tu bootes normalement , que se passe-t-il ou ne se passe-t-il pas
      Blocage de l'écran qui n'affiche rien ?
      Plantage du grub?  avec un message ? sans message?
      Plantage de initramfs?

4)    Lorsque tu  tentes de booter, essaie de modifier la ligne qui boote si tu peux afin de supprimer
   les mots quiet splash     afin de faire bavarder l'écran un peu plus .
   Si tu n'y arrives pas, ce n'est pas trop grave,     Mais solution de secours au point 5.

5) Lors d'un boot réussi, modifie cette ligne

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

du fichier /etc/default/grub
afin de mettre

6) Pour un peu, je te ferais installer la version moins 1 car il me semble avoir vu des problèmes sur un noyau récent.   Mais je n'ai pas noté lequel.

7) Bien que rien ne semble le  justifier, à part la remarque de malbo disant que les disques ne sont pas toujours dans le même ordre, tu vas quand même donner l'état du disque, soit avec la session installée soit avec le support d'installation . https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/smartmontools

Essai démarrage mode normal après application des commandes 5 et 6.
Ecran noir et message :  EFI stub : UEFI Secure boot is enabled

Je redémarre ensuite en mode recovery
j'active l'option "réparer les paquets cassés"
Des tas d'actions se déroulent très rapidement, sans que je puisse bien sûr analyser.
puis j'active  l'option "mettre à jour le chargeur d'amorçage grub"
Et ensuite l'option "reprendre le démarrage normal"

Redémarrage effectué mais je reste encore mode mode recovery limité

Cela est l'option du test nomodeset

Avec l'option permanente de réparer les paquets cassés, on part sur l'idée que le disque ne va pas bien.

Lors d'un boot réussi, modifie cette ligne

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"

du fichier /etc/default/grub
afin de mettre

######   GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nomodeset dis_ucode_ldr "

et prise en charge avec

sudo update-grub

Si le problème est résolu, il restera deux autres essais
un avec la seule option nomodeset
un autre avec la seule option dis_ucode_ldr  => https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1831789
