[résolu - matériel] Perdu le menu Grub (dual boot)
Bonjour
je ne pourrais pas être affirmatif mais je crois ce dysfonctionnent est arrivé après une mise à jour (5.4.0-64-generic + paquets).
je me suis inspiré de la documention (GRUB para 8 probleme connu ) mais sans résultat .
copie du terminal

Le tout est accompagné d'un démarrage assez long et quelquefois pour arriver sur un ecran de connexion (+ MDP)
j'ai vu le lien proposé par xubu 1957 sur un fil https://askubuntu.com/questions/1235728 … n-terminal , en réalité j'ai pas compris la démarche.....

Bonjour
Je n'ai pas réussi à résoudre mon probléme de dual boot malgré mes recherches à travers la doc "GRUB" et le forum !
j'avais omis de préciser que je n'ai plus acces au bios.
Lors d'un F2, F10 ,ou F12 ça ne donne rien ,sinon qu'Ubuntu ne démarre plus. Un redémarrage est nécessaire pour accéder à Ubuntu.
J'ai effectué un clear cmos sans résultat !(option pile, pas cavalier)
La machine boot sur un live CD mais pas un cd "boot repair"
Avez vous une piste ?

Ligne extraite de ton post #7 :
* grub-pc/install_devices: /dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WDS120G1G0B-00RC30_173409801087Elle signifie que Grub a enregistré dans ses tablettes que son chargeur d'amorçage se trouve dans le MBR du disque WDS120G1G0B-00RC30_173409801087. Un coup d’œil dans le Boot-info du post #4 nous indique qu'il s'agit du disque sda (120 Go).
On peut voir dans la partie "Boot Info Summary" - tout au début du Boot-info - qu'il y a un chargeur d'amorçage de Grub qui se trouve dans le MBR de sda et un chargeur d'amorçage de Grub qui se trouve dans le MBR de sdb. Mais seulement celui qui est dans le MBR de sda est mis à jour en cas de mise à jour du paquet Grub. Celui qui se trouve dans sdb n'est jamais mis à jour. Cette situation est sans doute le fruit - pourri - de l'utilisation de Boot-repair.
Si tu n'as plus d'accès au Bios comme tu l'as écrit dans ton post #5, moi je ne sais pas trop comment faire pour que tu puisses retrouver un dual-boot fonctionnel.

Merci pour les explications , j'ai compris que le chargeur d 'amorçage est sur le "120 Go" au lieu du "250 Go !!

Des lignes de commande ad hoc sont surement nécessaire (ou autres choses), mais je suis incompétent dans ce domaine.........

Je crois que tout est correct dans ce fichier grub.cfg. Désolé mais je ne sais pas quoi te conseiller compte-tenu que tu n'as pas accès au Bios.

Je ne connais pas ton ordinateur mais l'accès au bios se fait peut-être en appuyant sur d'autres touche Del Esc Tab
De plus, il semble qu'en appuyant sur une touche Fn, il y a du changement même s'il est dans le mauvais sens
Dans un premier temps, essaie la technique conne du mode recovery pour forcer le grub à s'exhiber Ce qui devrait te permettre de choisir windows
Le démarrage en mode de dépannage se choisit dans le menu d'amorçage du système d'exploitation, dans les premières secondes de l'amorçage de l'ordinateur. Sélectionnez-y Ubuntu, avec Linux (mode de dépannage)ou Ubuntu, with Linux (recovery mode) si la traduction française est incomplète ou absente.
Pour forcer l'affichage de ce menu lorsque votre système Ubuntu est configuré de telle sorte qu'aucun menu ne s'affiche au démarrage, appuyez sur la touche [Échap] (ou [ESC]) ou sur la touche [⇧ Maj] (ou [⇧ Shift]) et maintenez-la enfoncée jusqu'à ce que le menu d'amorçage s'affiche. La durée pendant laquelle vous pouvez utiliser ces touches étant relativement courte, il vous faudra peut-être plusieurs essais.

Afin de mieux visualiser le démarrage, avec la même logique, peux-tu modifier cette ligne
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"afin qu'elle devienne
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nomodeset"pense à regénérer (update-grub)
J'ai l'impression que tu n'as pas fait l'essai de forcer l'apparition du menu de boot.
"appuyez sur la touche [Échap] (ou [ESC]) ou sur la touche [⇧ Maj] (ou [⇧ Shift]) et maintenez-la enfoncée jusqu'à ce que le menu d'amorçage s'affiche. La durée pendant laquelle vous pouvez utiliser ces touches étant relativement courte, il vous faudra peut-être plusieurs essais."

Soit ton bios est réglé pour d'abord lancer SDB puis SDA dans ce cas , en absence de SDB, il bootera sur SDA
Soit ton bios est réglé pour booter d'abord sur SDA
dans les deux cas, cela ne changera rien car le boot-repair a fait le nécessaire pour que la suite su boot aille sur SDB
Donc le grub se plantera. Cela n'est pas un problème bios.

@jarto : il y a combien de temps que tu n'avais pas essayé d'aller dans le Bios de cette machine ? Peut-être que cet accès est cassé depuis longtemps...

La réponse à mon problème est là :
geole # 18 :Cela n'est pas un problème bios.
malbo # 19 : Peut-être que cet accès est cassé depuis longtemps…
La cause : connecteur DVI sur écran / moniteur pas serré (vis non serré)
pour infos : ma dernière intervention sur le bios se situe courant novembre pour tester le live CD 20.04.

J’avais essayé toutes les touches qui auraient pu avoir une incidence sur l’apparition du Bios et écran noir ! La cata !! plus aucun démarrage ( pas de visuel en fin de compte)
J’ai testé avec un live CD : ça fonctionne ! (ça boot dessus avec visuel)
Lors de mes tests infructueux j’ai remarqué que je n’avais pas le logo de l’écran (analogique/digital) qui est présent de façon furtive.
Connecteur DVI écran incriminé (vis non serré) /action corrective.
Redémarrage → logo bios → et voila le GRUB , ce dernier à un nouveau design mais tout est là → démarrage auto (10s) ça fonctionne . Démarrage sur W10 = OK
Le connecteur non serré doit être comme cela depuis longtemps, je pense que les dysfonctionnements que j’ai eu auparavant sont en partie imputables à cette anomalie.

C'est assez drôle que ce "faux-contact" se produise uniquement au démarrage. Il y a probablement une "pin" dédiée pour ce démarrage qui ne passait plus
Si tu as maintenant GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nomodeset"
revient au standard GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
tu pourras alors en profiter pour remettre
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden
et pourquoi pas
#GRUB_TERMINAL=console
Sinon, il me semble que tu peux laisser en l'état des deux dernières options
