Installation Ubuntu sur Lenovo Ideapad 5 15are05

Bonjour,

J'ai récemment fait l'acquisition d'un Lenovo Ideapad 5 15are05, Ryzen 7 4800u, que j'utilise sous Windows. Je souhaite faire mes premiers pas sur Linux et faire un dual-boot avec Ubuntu et j'ai quelques questions :

- D'après ce que j'ai compris, le kernel linux d'Ubuntu 20.04 LTS est 5.4, alors que pour cet ordinateur on recommande un kernel 5.8 minimum. Est-ce que c'est possible d'atteindre cette version ?

- Est ce que quelqu'un connait un équivalent à Boot Picker (Ce truc là) afin de pouvoir choisir entre Windows et Ubuntu à chaque démarrage sans passer par le BIOS ?

Si tu télécharges et que tu utilises la version 20.04.2.0 de Ubuntu (*) , le kernel sera 5.8. Tu peux le vérifier en cherchant "linux-image" dans ubuntu-20.04.2.0-desktop-amd64.manifest (tu trouveras : linux-image-5.8.0-43-generic)

En installant Ubuntu, tu auras Grub qui remplit cette fonction.

Est-ce que le nom complet du modèle de ton ordi est Lenovo Ideapad 5 15ARE05-967 qu'on peut voir sur cette page du site LaptopSpirit : https://www.laptopspirit.fr/285182/leno … apide.html
Si ce n'est pas ce modèle, je te prie de noter ce qui apparaît dans l'onglet "Information" du Bios dans le champ MTM (*) et de l'indiquer dans ta réponse. En fait, c'est ce MTM qui identifie formellement le modèle chez Lenovo. Pour le modèle du site LaptopSpirit dont j'ai donné le lien, le MTM est 81YQ00CDFR

(*) MTM signifie Machine-Type-Model

Effectivement, j'ai vérifié dans mon utilitaire Lenovo, c'est bien l'Ideapad 5 15are05 81YQ00CDFR

A priori, tu ne devrais pas avoir d'ennui. Toutefois, si tu parviens à démarrer ton ordi sur une LiveUSB de Ubuntu 20.04.2.0, je te conseille de ne pas lancer directement l'installation mais plutôt de faire une session live - c'est à dire de sélectionner "Essayer Ubuntu" plutôt que "Installer Ubuntu" - et de faire un Boot-info depuis la session live. Tu donneras l'URL de ce Boot-info dans ta réponse. On pourra te confirmer si tout est OK pour tenter l'installation.

Désolé du délai , j'ai eu du mal à me poser pour faire ça.

Au niveau du boot en live USB, aucun problème, c'était super fluide. Le touchpad n'était pas bindé, il a suffit de 3 commandes pour régler le problème. Wifi OK, Micro OK, Webcam OK, Boutons sons et luminosité OK, rétro-éclairage OK. Le capteur d'empreinte est détecté avec lsusb mais pas compatible (Cela semble possible de bidouiller pour l'utiliser quand même mais ça attendra)

Pour le dual-boot avec rEFInd, je suis tombé sur ce tuto qui fait exactement ce que je veux (à la différence qu'il fait ça avec Mint), c'est la bonne marche à suivre ? Quid du backup ? J'ai 200go de fichier sur mon SDD que je dois absolument pas perdre.

Si besoin, je précise que refind est superflu si on ne cherche pas à fignoler.

Oui refind est superflu, c'est juste une petite coquetterie de ma part smile
Donc tout est bon pour l'installation ? Je commence par quoi ? Je boot en live USB, je choisi installation à coté de Windows, j'attribue une taille spécifique pour Ubuntu, je remplace GRUB par refind et c'est bon ?

Alors, si vraiment tu veux utiliser refind, tu peux lancer l'installation avec l'option sans grub (ubiquity -b) ; et installer refind dans l'esp avant de redémarrer., tant que tu es en live-usb.
malbo explique l'option sans grub dans un autre contexte dans ce message.
Mais le mieux est certainement de t'en passer pour le moment et de l'utiliser ensuite.

Je vais tous installer d'un coup comme ça ca serait fait (j'aurais jamais le courage d'y revenir ahaha). J'ai regardé les instruction de malbo mais j'avoue que j'ai pas trop compris l'étape 4, ni la 5 d'ailleurs sad D'ailleurs j'ai pas besoin de ces étapes non ? Je choisis installer à coté de Windows ?

Bon, j'écris ce message depuis Ubuntu smile L'installation s'est bien passée, j'ai donc un dual boot avec Windows 10 et Ubuntu 20.04 géré par Refind. Il reste deux-trois détails à régler, mais dans l'ensemble ça tourne nickel ! Merci à tous pour votre aide smile

Please do not forget to make your UEFI firmware boot on the L'OS actuellement utilisé - Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS CurrentSession entry (nvme0n1p1/efi/****/shim****.efi (**** will be updated in the final message) file) !
If your computer reboots directly into Windows, try to change the boot order in your UEFI firmware.

If your UEFI firmware does not allow to change the boot order, change the default boot entry of the Windows bootloader.

Ce n'était pas utile d'utiliser refind comme je l'ai déjà écrit dans le post #9 mais bon...

Ce qui te permet d'installer ubuntu nettement plus rapidement avec cette commande sudo ubiquity -b
