bonjour,
je suis un débutant et j'ai essayé d’installer Ubuntu ce matin sur mon disque dur externe. avant d'installer je l'ai d'abord formaté et mis en GPT, ensuite je l'ai divisé en 3 partition sous Windows avant d'installer Ubuntu sur une partition non alloué de 30gb. j"ai terminé l'installation mais il y a le message d’erreur qui apparaît et je ne peux ni démarrer Linux ni démarrer Windows qui est installé sur mon disque externe.

Bonjour,
Tu n'as pas respecté les indications du paragraphe 2.2.1 Installation du chargeur de démarrage sur le disque USB de la doc "Installation d'Ubuntu sur un support connecté en USB". Tu as laissé le chargeur d'amorçage s'installer dans le MBR de sda alors qu'il fallait l'installer dans le MBR de sdc (le disque dur externe). Je pense qu'il faut que tu répares le démarrage de ton Windows en priorité. Plus précisément, c'est le MBR de Windows qu'il faut reconstruire.
Pour cela, je te suggère d'utiliser ce tuto : https://answers.microsoft.com/fr-fr/win … 3059031555
Dans ce tuto, c'est la "Deuxième méthode : Démarrer avec un support d'installation ou clé de récupération de Windows 10..." qui convient. Puis il faut suivre "II- REPARER LE BOOT LEGACY (BIOS/MBR)". A mon avis, tu peux t'arrêter après la commande "bootrec /fixmbr" et quitter (même brutalement avec un appui long sur le bouton marche arrêt de l'ordi si tu n'as pas la possibilité de sortir de façon plus normale). La suite de la procédure, c'est pour une réparation approfondie du démarrage (reconstruction de la BCD) mais je ne pense pas que ce soit nécessaire dans ton cas.

EDIT : après passage de la commande "bootrec /fixmbr", tu devrais voir "L'opération a réussi" comme sur cette vue : https://zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=21/45/1535.png
Cela signifiera que le chargeur d'amorçage de Windows aura été écrit dans le MBR de sda (à la place du chargeur de Grub)

Merci.
Mais j'ai utilisé boot repair pour réparer le démarrage de mon Windows. Mais avant de le faire j'ai d'abord débranché mon disque USB.
Mon Windows démarre normalement.
Je vais suivre le tutos pour mieux installer Ubuntu sur mon disque USB. Je reviendrai en cas de problème.

malheureusement j'ai essayer de mettre le chargeur de d'amorçage sur le disque USB et le message d'erreur est: error " unknow filesystem" -- grub rescue.
j'ai aussi essayer de réinstaller et mettre le chargeur de d'amorçage sur la partition d'installation du logiciel qui est au format ext4, mais c'est la même erreur.
le disque dur est noté sdc et la partition où est le chargeur d'amorçage sdc2.

Cela devrait booter automatiquement car tu as déjà certainement mis prioritaire les boot sur support USB

Oui, on voit que tu as fait ça dans le Boot-info mais ça ne pouvait pas résoudre le problème.

Finalement j'ai résolu le problème.
Dab j'ai installé Ubuntu sans coché la case pour installer des pilotes propriétaireset sans coché la case de mis à jour. Ensuite j'ai créé une nouvelle table de partition à partir du disque dur externe sdc, sans oublier d'ajouter aussi le chargeur d'amorçage sur lui.
J'ai partitionné le disque en une partie Root une partie swap et une partie Home.
J'ai laissé le reste du disque en espace libre. À la fin J'ai redémarré l'ordi et j'ai retiré tout les supports branché en USB.
L'ordinateur à d'abord démarré sur le disque interne avec windows. J'ai éteint l'ordinateur et branché mon disque dur externe, l'ordinateur à directement démarré dessus et afficher le grub 2.02. avec toutes les options.

Il s'agit bien d'une installation en mode non-EFI de Ubuntu 20.04.3. Le partitionnement du disque dur externe (Seagate Portable 3.0) est conforme à tes explications du post #10. C'est fonctionnel mais à mon avis, tu aurais dû te contenter de créer une seule partition de 35 Go - la partition racine de Ubuntu - au lieu de créer ces 3 partitions :
- une partition swap n'est pas utile pour Ubuntu 20.04 parce que l'installateur crée un fichier swap (on peut voir ce fichier swapfile dans ta précédente install du post #7)
- une partition /home de 10 Go, c'est trop petit pour que ça serve à quelque chose.

J'ai mentionné ton éclatante réussite dans la ligne ProBook 450 G2 de la Liste des portables HP

Je ne sais pas trop ce que tu appelles "section ubuntu"
Si tu débranches le disque par mégarde lorsque ubuntu fonctionne , il est probable que ubuntu se plante ou qu'il indique un message d'erreur. Dans ce dernier cas, il devrait suffire de rebrancher le disque et de répondre au message d'erreur. Dans le premier cas, au redémarrage, ubuntu se plantera en te disant de faire une commande fsck de la partition "racine" .
Tu feras en plus un fsck de la partition "home". Note qu'il est possible que la partition "racine" soit en bon état et que seule la partition "home" soit en mauvais état. Dans ce contexte, le démarrage se plantera sans savoir indiquer qu'il faut faire un fsck de la partition "home". A toi de penser à faire ce fsck avant de retenter le redémarrage.

Il s'agit bien d'une installation en mode non-EFI de Ubuntu 20.04.3. Le partitionnement du disque dur externe (Seagate Portable 3.0) est conforme à tes explications du post #10. C'est fonctionnel mais à mon avis, tu aurais dû te contenter de créer une seule partition de 35 Go - la partition racine de Ubuntu - au lieu de créer ces 3 partitions :
- une partition swap n'est pas utile pour Ubuntu 20.04 parce que l'installateur crée un fichier swap (on peut voir ce fichier swapfile dans ta précédente install du post #7)
- une partition /home de 10 Go, c'est trop petit pour que ça serve à quelque chose.

J'ai mentionné ton éclatante réussite dans la ligne ProBook 450 G2 de la Liste des portables HP

Bonsoir excuse moi pour le retard, d'abord les infos sur mon ordi sont correctes sauf qu niveau de la RAM au lieu d'une de 8Go j'en es une de 4Go. À propos de l'installation j'avais pas trop lu la doc donc je ne savais pas que c'était pas vraiment nécessaire. J'ai plutôt suivi le conseil d'un tuto sur youtube ce qui m'a aidé à comprendre 2 et 3 trucs sur l'installation en plus je ne savais pas vraiment comment m'y prendre pour créer une seule partition ( partition racine ). Je compte bien le réinstaller plus tard mais cette fois ci en dual boot sur mon disque interne. Celà me facilitera la tâche car je ne sais pas comment faire si mon disque externe de débranche en pleine utilisation d'Ubuntu.
Et enfin je suis ravi que tu ai mentionné ma réussite, mes efforts ont servi à quelque chose.

Je ne sais pas trop ce que tu appelles "section ubuntu"
Si tu débranches le disque par mégarde lorsque ubuntu fonctionne , il est probable que ubuntu se plante ou qu'il indique un message d'erreur. Dans ce dernier cas, il devrait suffire de rebrancher le disque et de répondre au message d'erreur. Dans le premier cas, au redémarrage, ubuntu se plantera en te disant de faire une commande fsck de la partition "racine" .
Tu feras en plus un fsck de la partition "home". Note qu'il est possible que la partition "racine" soit en bon état et que seule la partition "home" soit en mauvais état. Dans ce contexte, le démarrage se plantera sans savoir indiquer qu'il faut faire un fsck de la partition "home". A toi de penser à faire ce fsck avant de retenter le redémarrage.

Oui tu as raison je parlais effectivement de ça. Qu'est ce qui faut faire lorsque le disque externe de débranche en pleine utilisation d'Ubuntu ?
Mais je ne sais pas ce qu'un fsck, et lorsque j'ai rebrancher mon disque lors de l'erreur rien ne sais passé.
Si tu peux mieux m'éclairer sur le fsck celà me ferai vraiment plaisir.
