[Résolu]RTX 3060 double ecran impossible
Bonjour,
J'ai un laptop avec un écran additionnel et il m'est impossible d'avoir les 2 écrans simultanément. Lorsque le pilote Xorg est actif j'ai l'écran du laptop et lorsque le pilote Nvidia est actif j'ai l'écran additionnel en HDMI.
Je souhaiterais avoir mes 2 écrans simultanément.
J'ajoute quelques fichiers et résultats de commande en espérant une solution.

J'ai parcouru beaucoup de post à propos de "Ubuntu 20.04 RTX 3060" mais je n'ai pas trouvé de solution à mon problème.
Je précise que juste apès l'install du pilote Nvidia et du 1er reboot j'ai eu mes 2 écrans dans xrandr et j'ai réussi à les configurer avec nvidia-settings puis au démarrage suivant l'écran du laptop a disparu !

Pour supprimer tous ces fichiers de configuration devenus sans objets et marqués "rc", et uniquement ces fichiers, exécute :
dpkg -l | awk '/^rc/{print $2}' | xargs -r sudo dpkg -P
Pour info, les précisions de nany, pour la commande de nettoyage

Comme dit dans mon post de départ :

J'avais mes 2 écrans dans xrandr et dans nvidia-settings et je n'ai rien configuré avec xrandr
Pour l'instant quand je suis avec les pilotes nvidia je n'ai que l'HDMI qui est détecté le eDP-1 n'est pas détecté et d'après ce que je comprends de xrandr il n'est pas possible d’ajouter un écran mais seulement d'ajouter des résolution ou des positions relatives.
Tant que je n'aurai pas mes 2 écrans dans xrandr je suis bloqué

As-tu un support d'installation d'Ubuntu (DVD ou clé USB) ?
Pour appliquer la procédure > amorcer_sur_cd_ubuntu#amorcage et arriver à cette étape : essayer_ubuntu_sans_rien_changer_dans_votre_ordinateur et tester les écrans en session-live.

J'ai fait l'essai avec ma clé USB :
Seulement l'écran eDP-1 est listé (et fonctionnel) par xrandr ce qui me semble cohérent puisque le pilote de la session live est Xorg. Le second ecran sur la sortie HDMI n'est pas détecté. Avec le pilote Xorg l'HDMI n'a jamais été détecté depuis que j'ai ce PC.

J'ai renommé mes fichiers xorg.conf.nvidia-xconfig-original, xorg.conf.backup et xorg.conf
Au reboot j'ai mes 2 écrans actifs, je peux utiliser nvidia-settings mais dans l'onglet "X Server Display Configuration" j'ai le "PRIME Display: eDP-1-1" qui apparaît hachuré et grisé avec le message "PRIME Displays cannot be controlled by nvidia-settings and must be configured by an external RandR capable tool. The display is shown in the layout window above for informationnal purposes only"
Après des modifs sur l'écran externe avec nvidia-settings si je sauvegarde, un fichier xorg.conf est recréé et au reboot suivant je perd à nouveau l'écran interne !
J'ai tenté une génération du fichier xorg.conf avec "sudo Xorg -configure". mais ensuite plus de démarrage graphique possible.
Donc pour l'instant ça fonctionne mais c'est bancal... et quel est le risque d'avoir une install sans le fichier xorg.conf ?

Comme dit, les écrans PRIME ne peuvent pas être contrôlés par les paramètres nvidia car ils ne sont pas connectés au gpu nvidia.
Alors, pas moyen de contourner ça, nada.
Utilisez simplement le gestionnaire de moniteurs de votre distribution Linux pour organiser/ajuster les moniteurs.
