RAM pour mon portable
Bonjour,
D'après le site d'Asus https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ASUS-Lapto … fications/ mon portable serait upgradable jusqu'à 16go de mémoire RAM.
Mais la commande dmidecode me dit que je peux y mettre jusqu'à 64go...

Si je regarde en dessous il y a un autocollant avec un code barre où il y a marqué : X556UQ-XX605T
Sinon dmidecode me donne aussi un serial number et un UUID...

Oui peux-tu nous donner la sortie d'un dmidecode complet ?
Effectivement il y a une ambiguïté surprenante sur la mémoire:
1) Ton portable est livré avec une partie de la mémoire soudée, j'ai vu 4 ou 6 ou 8Gb soudés et un slot libre pour ajouter une barrette. A priori pour toi c'est 8Gb soudés
2) Quand je lis le dmidecode mémoire je trouve 2 banks de 2 slots, 2 canaux (normal pour de la DDR), Channel1A et Channel1B et deux emplacements "virtuels" par channel: Dimm0 et Dimm1.
Le Channel1A Dimm0 est pris "a priori" par ta mémoire soudée de 8Gb, soit je comprends la doc Asus et te dis que tu peux rajouter une barrette SODIMM de 8Gb en raison de la limitation à 16Gb, soit je "suis" le dmidecode et dis qu'il te reste 3 slots: Channel1A Dimm1, Channel1B Dimm0 et Dimm1. Pour ne rien te cacher et par expérience des upgrades de portables je pencherais pour la première hypothèse. Je continuerais tout de même à te consolider avec des éléments factuels cela. Par exemple le max de mémoire supporté par ton CPU (d'ou la demande de dmidecode complet).
Le chiffre de 64Gb, je subodore une lecture des capacités portées par Le CPU/Chipset qui est distinct de la mise en œuvre sur la carte mère.

Oui le dmidecode va dans le sens d'un seul emplacement libre, dans lequel tu peux rajouter une barrette de 8Go.
Et voici une vidéo qui le démont(r)e !!
Par contre pas obligé d'enlever le capot principal (je ne sais pas pourquoi il le fait...).

Bonjour,
J(ai effectué ceci dans le terminal, mais je ne suis pas sûr de bien savoir l'interprétrer.
Mon PC est un HP 15-EC2143NF, je sais qu'il a 8Go, mais j'gnore quelle fréquence il faudrait que je prenne, et si je peux "simplement" ajouter une barrette ou s'il faut que j'en achète deux, dans l'hypothèse où il serait monté en 2*4Go.

Hello Flo,
D'après ce que je comprend au vu de ce que te dit dmidecode, tu a deux barrettes de 4go chacunes (donc 8go en tout), de marque Samsung et de fréquence 3200 Mhz (3200 MT/s).
D'après la rubrique "Physical Memory Array" tu a en tout deux slots de ram sur ton portable et tu es limité à 32go de ram en tout.
Donc j'imagine que tu peux remplacer tes deux barrettes de 4go par deux de 16go par exemple ou par deux de 8go

Bonjour , pour verifier la frequence actuelle des barettes :
sudo lshw -c memory
mais il est preferable de verifier dans le bios ou sur le manuel de la carte mere ou de l ' ordi pour la frequence maxi utilisable par ta carte mere .
