Erreur : mémoire épuisée

Bonjour à toutes et à tous,

J'ai mis ce message Ubuntu sur la toile et j'ai vu tout un tas de réponses mais qui ne me semblaient pas vraiment pertinentes avec mon problème.

J'ai un PC en double boot avec Windows 10 et Ubuntu.

Hier, étant sous Ubuntu, je fais une mise à jour qui m'était préconisée ... à la fin il m'est demandé de redémarrer ... ce que je n'ai fait qu'aujourd'hui.

Lors du lancement d'Ubuntu, le message suivant : erreur : mémoire épuisée ... puis plus rien.

En redémarrant, je passe par le menu de boot et je vois que j'ai deux versions :
- 5.15.0-67 generic
- 5.15.0-69 generic

La version 5.15.0-67 démarre correctement et je suppose que la version 5.15.0-69 est la nouvelle à laquelle il m'était demandé de redémarrer pour que la mise à jour soit complète.

Une idée de ce qui se passe et de ce qu'il faut faire pour que la dernière version fonctionne ?

Donne les retours de :

sudo apt update
df -Th

d'éventuels paquets cassés :

dpkg -l | grep -v ^ii

et :

ls -l /var/crash

en te servant du Retour utilisable de commande.

Les retours que je vais vous donner sont obtenus à partir de la version 5.15.0-67 puisque la version 5.15.0-69 ne fonctionne pas.

Pour purger les résidus de configuration marqués "rc" :

sudo apt purge ~c

comme expliqué à la machine à café et rajouté dans ce message

Lance les mises à jour :

sudo apt full-upgrade

Donne la liste des anomalies de démarrage :

journalctl --no-pager -b -p err

Erreur de syntaxe à la ligne XXX
Des erreurs de syntaxe sont détectées dans le fichier de configuration
de GRUB. Veuillez vérifier qu'il n'y a pas d'erreur dans les fichiers
/etc/default/grub et /etc/grub.d/*. Sinon veuillez signaler un bogue
en joignant le fichier /boot/grub/grub.cfg.new.

De ce que j'en ai lu ici par xubu1957, tu pourrais tester la modification suivante.
Éditer le fichier initramfs.conf :

sudo nano /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf

Remplacer :

MODULES=most

par

MODULES=dep

CTRL + O pour enregistrer
CTRL + X pour quitter le fichier
Redémarrer sur le noyau 69 et ....

J'ai fait cette modif : rien de mieux.
J'ai relu ce lien et j'ai appliqué ces modifications :

MODULES=dep
COMPRESS=xz
RUNSIZE=15%

Résultat : toujours pas mieux. J'ai relu le lien et j'ai vu, au-dessus de l’explication des modifications :

MODULES=dep
COMPRESS=xz

Then run the following:

sudo update-initramfs -c -k all
sudo update-grub

J'ai appliqué ces deux commandes qui m'ont généré tout un tas de lignes (que je n'ai pas relevées) relatives aux deux versions et j'ai redémarré :

la version 5.15.0.-67 m'a dit : mémoire épuisé, mais finalement s'est lancée
la version 5.15.0-69 s'est lancée "péniblement" mais sans message de mémoire épuisée.

C'est un progrès smile !

Alors, soyons fou, je suis repassé aux paramètres d'origine :

MODULES=most
COMPRESS=zstd
RUNSIZE=10%

suivi des deux commandes :

sudo update-initramfs -c -k all
sudo update-grub

J'ai eu une seule ligne de commentaires pour chacune des versions.

J'ai redémarré : chacune des deux versions est partie comme s'il n'y avait jamais eu de problème cool

Au final, je me demande si la seule application des deux commandes n'aurait pas suffi à régler le problème .

Qu'en pensez-vous ?

Tu as bien fait d'avoir relu. J'avais oublié de t'indiquer de passer ces commandes qui sont indispensables.
Oui, c'est plus probablement les deux dernières commandes qui ont résolu le problème.

sudo update-initramfs -c -k all
sudo update-grub

A vérifier sur d'autres systèmes rencontrant ce problème...

J'ai fait la mise à jour vers 5.15.0-70 : ça s'est bien passé
J'ai fait la mise à jour vers 5.15.0.71 et je suis retombé sur le même problème :

erreur : impossible d'allouer le tampon du noyau
erreur : le noyau doit d'abord être chargé
Appuyer sur une touche pour continuer

Ça ne veut rien savoir. Je suis repassé par tout ce que j'ai expliqué au post #21, mais cette fois-ci, ça ne veut rien savoir.

Que faire ?

journalctl --no-pager -b -p err
