Fenêtre login et mot de passe interminable à apparaître...
Salut à tous,
Pour la troisième fois, lorsque je démarre karmic, le système se lance normalement, mais de temps à autre la fenêtre de login et mot de passe n'apparaît plus... ensuite s'en suit le logo Ubuntu et la barre de mémoire, puis plus rien excepté le fond d'écran vide maculé de teintes à dominantes brunes.
J'ai toujours le contrôle souris (mais rien de cliquable) et clavier.
Comme la commande "ctrl+alt+retour" ne semble plus fonctionner sous karmic, j'effectue alors un "ctrl+alt+F1" afin de passer en mode console, un "sudo startx" me renvoie que le serveur graphique est déjà en fonction, donc "sudo reboot". Parfois ça reboote normalement, parfois ça récidive...
Je précise que ce comportement est aléatoire, et ne m'était jamais arrivé sous les versions antérieures.

Pour ton problème je ne sais pas, mais sinon tu peux utiliser « ctrl+alt+imp écran+k » en remplacement de « ctrl+alt+retour ».

Aujourd'hui, je lance ma machine, et ça recommence:
Mais cette fois, après le test mémoire, j'ai attendu... et une dizaine de minutes plus tard, la fenêtre de login est réapparue mais par étapes successive !
J'ai enfin pu démarrer, mais arrivé sur le bureau, message d'erreur :
Le tableau de bord a rencontré un problème lors du chargement de « OAFIID:GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet ».Voulez-vous supprimer l'applet de votre configuration ?
Dans le doute, j'ai répondu non, ne sachant pas très bien la fonction exact de cet applet.
Personne ne peux m'aider à me sortir de ce mauvais pas ?

Je ne suis pas convaincu qu'il y ai un lien de cause à effet, il est aussi possible que cet applet (c'est celui avec ton nom, en haut à droite normalement) est choisi de planté au mauvais moment.
Tu peux l'enlever pour tester si tu veux, tu pourra le remettre facilement via un clic droit sur le tableau de bord → ajouter au tableau de bord → Applet de notification de session.
ps: c'est également le menu qui te permet d'éteindre/redémarrer. Si tu l'enlève, ces commandes apparaitrons dans le menu système.

Je viens de tenter un reboot:
En fait, passé le test mémoire avec le logo ubuntu, la fenêtre de connexion est très, très, très, longue à arriver... du style 5 minutes au moins. D'abord apparaissent un rectangle noir, puis l'en-tête, puis le login, puis l'invite du mot de passe !
Alors, je parviens à lancer le bureau.
Petite bonne nouvelle, la fenêtre d'erreur à disparue, et le bouton applet-session à retrouvé sa place tout seul.
C'est quoi ce délire ?
Qu'est-ce qui tout à coup peut ralentir à ce point le chargement au démarrage ?
J'ajoute que je n'ai rien modifié matériellement parlant, ni installé de nouveaux softs dernièrement...
Si j'étais sous windows, ça sentirait bon le virus ou autre réjouissance, mais sous linux ???

Non, je me suis mal exprimé, je veux parler du curseur qui fait des aller retour sous le logo "ubuntu" lors du boot.
Non, ce n'est pas un test de disque dur, dans ce cas là, c'est normal que ça prenne du temps.

Ça peut être un problème lié au pilote graphique.
Tu as installé un pilote proprio ?
Donne moi le résultat de la commande suivante (après un démarrage foireux)
dmesg
(entre balises code, parce qu'il va te sortir un truc énorme)

Aprés avoir réalisé un memtest86 afin de tester mes barettes de ram, aprés une dizaine de minutes, aucune erreur trouvée.
J'ai redémarré, et là miracle ! ça fonctionne de nouveau normalement ? (je doute que memtest y soit pour quelque chose)
J'ai alors rebooté trois fois de suite pour voir, tout semble de nouveau normal...
Ma carte graphique est une geforce GTX275, et j'utilise le driver Nvidia 185.18.36

Je t'explique, en fait les nombres dans la colonne de gauche du dmesg correspondent au temps, dans le cas d'un boot très/trop long ça permet de voir où ça bloque.
Par exemple tu peux voir que tu as un trou entre la 5ème et la 21ème seconde et que c'est dû au démarrage de udev (mais à priori, ça, ce n'est pas forcément aberrent).
Tout ça pour dire que si le boot c'est bien déroulé on ne peut pas déduire grand chose.
Donc profite du fait que ça marche et si le problème se représente n'hésite pas à reposter ton dmesg

Visiblement c'est khubd qui met le bazar, or d'après ce que j'ai compris celui-ci s'occupe des périphériques USB.
Il serait intéressent que tu débranches ce que tu peux (disque dur externe, clef usb, autres...) pour voir si ça peux pas venir d'un périphérique en particulier.

Oui, c'est ce que j'ai constaté concernant khubd en fouinant sur google, ça concerne l'usb.
Or, les seuls périphériques que j'ai changé dernièrement, sont ma souris, (usb) et celle-ci fonctionne très bien.
Ensuite ma carte graphique en pci-express.
Le bug que j'essaie de déterminer ici est arrivé bien après ces changements...
En usb, deux disques externes, branchés mais à l'arrêt la plupart du temps, un onduleur, un scanner et une imprimante.
Pour le reste, rien n'a changé depuis des lustres...
N'y a t-il pas moyen d'affiner les recherches en console ? (mes connaissances en ce domaine sont pour le moins limitées)
Car, si ça continue, j'en prend chaque fois pour 6mn mini avant d'atteindre le bureau !
Si je débranche un à un, chaque usb...imagine...

Pas besoin de les débrancher un a un pour le moment, tu peux déjà essayer d'en débrancher le plus possible d'un coup pour voir si ça change quelque chose.

Bon, j'ai arrêté ma machine, et débranché tous les usb, excepté souris et clavier.
En fait, j'en ai débranché 7 ! (c'est fou ce que l'on accumule avec le temps)
Donc boot à froid = RAS , tout à fait normal 36s environ.
Puis, reboot afin de confirmer = OK également.
Que dois-je faire maintenant ?

Comme tu l'as vu précédemment, ton problème ne se manifeste que par intermitence.
Donc on peut pas trop conclure pour l'instant.
Je te conseil de ne rebrancher que l'indispensable pour le moment, c'est à l'usage qu'on pourra déduire si le problème viens vraiment d'un périphérique.
(je suis en train de disséquer ton dmesg)

Oui, en fait c'est bien l'intermittence du problème, qui pose problème !
Je vais suivre ton conseil et ne rebrancher que l'essentiel pour le moment. En fait je le rappelle, j'utilise ce même matériel depuis plusieurs versions d'Ubuntu sans le moindre souci...
C'est cela qui est incompréhensible, ou serait-ce une histoire de mise à jour buggée, mais dans ce cas je pense que je ne serais pas le seul ?

Pour info, j'ai comparé les 2 dmesg (celui du boot normal et l'autre) et j'ai trouvé des trucs bizarre (si des connaisseurs passent dans le coin... parce que là j'arrive aux limites de ce que je connais...)
1/ Dans les 2 situations, le matériel n'est pas forcément reconnu dans le même ordre (c'est du détail certes, mais tout est censé être identique d'un boot à l'autre normalement, non ?)
2/ J'ai trouvé (grâce à diffuse et à un morceau de bravoure à base de cat et de cut) deux messages qui apparaissent lors du bon boot mais pas dans l'autre :
sda1 sda2 < sda5
(en 1.758869)
et
usb 4-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
(en 5.007344)
Je ne sais pas trop ce que ça peux vouloir dire (ou même si c'est vraiment important) mais ça mettra peut-être quelqu'un sur la voie...

Non, je confirme, je n'ai absolument rien changé entre ces deux démarrages.
Je n'ai débranché les périphériques usb qu'après, à ta demande.
Étrange, en effet, mais je ne suis pas expert en matière de console...

En attendant tu peux continuer dans ton coin, si tu estimes que tu as fais suffisamment de boot sans problème tu peux rebrancher un périphérique et rebelotte jusqu'à isoler un éventuel fautif.

L'événement est tellement aléatoire que je n'arrive pas à croire qu'il s'agisse d'un des deux périphs rebranchés.
Après tout, ma machine fonctionnait très bien avec les mêmes attributs auparavant.
Qu'est-ce donc que khubd, task udev-configure, task devkit-power ???
