Ubuntu lite
On en a déjà pas mal parlé sur ce forum: comment faire pour installer ubuntu sur une petite config.
Ben voilà, certaines personnes s'y mettent plus précisément avec cette distrib, basée sur ubuntu et faite pour tourner sur un 200Mhz avec 64Mo de ram

merci laurent, aussitôt lu, et HOP dowload;). je vais enfin pouvoir faire gouter OUBOUNTOUUU sur la petite config de ma chère mère qui, s'approchant de la retraite ma demandé du linux sur son 433Mhz /128 Mo Ram...je vais tester ça pour vous. -- Bye --et merci pour l'info

Oui mais il n'y a pas beaucoup d'informations sur le site.
Quelle différence par rapport à une installation totalement personnalisée ?
Et pourquoi un espace dique de 2 Gb ?

Et pourquoi un espace dique de 2 Gb ?
C'est le seul reproche que je leur ferais pour l'instant... Je trouve que c'est déjà balèze, 2Go pour une "petite confi"... pour moi ça devrait pouvoir le faire avec 500Mo
Sinon, je pense qu'ils vont optimiser quelque peut les paquets pour les petites config et inclure un wm plus léger.

...et bien je confirme : ubuntulite formate le disque dur mais avant il te propose de retourner sur ton "hdd" pour effectuer une sauvegarde. pour info: ubuntulite demande au minimun une capacité de 1,3GB sur le disque dur.

clair que c'est juste une install avec
Abiword et gnumeric au lieu de Ooo (choix que j'applaudis des dix mains)
xfce 4.2 au lieu de gnome.
Mais bon, pe que c'est juste la base et qu'ils vont peaufiner les paquets pour les faire tourner sur des petites architectures? Parce que sinon, faut bien le dire, je vois pas l'intéret, vu qu'on fait la meme chose avec une install 'serveur' à coup d'apt...

C'est bizarre, j'ai un 433 MHz / 192 Mo et Hoary fonctionne parfaitement. C'est les 64 Mo de RAM de plus qui font la différence ?

j'ai refait une nouvelle installation avec la breezy mais en choisissant le mode serveur, et en ajoutant petit a petit les paquets graphiques, et l'installation c'est parfaitement déroulée. Ubuntu lite est trop radicale, elle ne proprosait pas le partionnage, alors je l'ai remplacé par une breezy qui fonctionne parfaitement . Au début j'ai même effectué cette installation avec 64 Mo et tout s'est déroulé sans soucis .

Il suffit d'avoir un éditeur de texte en français (ce que ne fournit pas DSL) et de pouvoir se connecter à internet pour le courrier et le surf
Pour rappel win95 et même 98 tournent bien sur ce type de machine et il y en a encore des miliers qui sont encore en très bon état.
L'intérêt de passer à Linux c'est l'élimination des virus qui perturbe leur fonctionnement et il serait intéressant de trouver une petite distribution qui remplisse les conditions ci-dessus

c'est d'ailleurs un énorme manque et un vrai créneau à prendre, la seule distribution qui tourne sur des petites config de façon convaincante c'est damn small linux qui est en anglais.

Bonjour à tous,
ce que je voulais dire c'est que la version lite d'ubuntu me semble prometteur,
j'ai fait un compte rendu pour mes cours sur ce sujet : http://laptop.org/index.fr.html
et avec un support comme celui-ci et ubuntu Lite.
On pourrai peux être avoir une communauté très très dévelloper
affaire à suivre...
