Boot lent
Bonjour
J'ai installé Ubuntu 6.06 Desktop sur un PC de bureau Acer Aspire E360 équipé d'une carte graphique Nvidia Geofrce 7300 GS.
Je précise que j'ai désactivé le boot graphique pour un boot en mode texte. (pas de splash)
Quand je fais Entrée pour selectionner Ubuntu dans grub il m'affiche quelques lignes de code (Uncompressing Linux... et autres) Puis il s'arrete pendant 15 secondes et ne fais plus rien, puis demarre enfin le chargement (vous savez les lignes suivies d'un OK (ou d'un failed )).
Voila, j'aimerais donc savoir comment éviter cette attente de 15 secondes qui peut se reveler assez pénible (surtout quand je montre Ubuntu a des copains ca fait pas super). Je précise qu'il ny'a aucune erreur au boot.
Au passage, quand je suis au boot graphique il affiche très vite les lignes Uncompressing Linux.... et autres, puis il passe en graphique avec le logo et la il ne demarre pas pendant 15 secondes puis ensuite ca charge (meme chose qu'en texte)

et bien ton probleme est clair: ce n'est pas la faute à l'affichage.
Si tu es courageux fouille les journaux, c'est probablement un pilote ou une carte réseau qui n'arrive pas à démarer.

J'ai le même problème, le mien reste figé 12 secondes sur le uncompressing Linux. Après, il met 30 secondes pour afficher l'écran d'accueil. J'ai un portable Maxdata.

Si c'est ça, faites une recherche (éventuellement sur le forum anglais) avec la ligne sur laquelle ça bloque (tu as fait une recherche ?). Je me rappelle que c'est un problème de dapper sur certains matos et il faut rajouter une option dans le menu.lst de grub pour qu'il n'y ait plus à attendre ...

J'envoie un message sur ce post car il me permet de constater que tu as le même chip Wlan que moi et arrive faire tourner Ubuntu.
Moi j'ai un vieux Pentium II que j'essaie de mettre sur Ubuntu avec WLAN et j'ai l'impression que la carte fiche le b....:o
Exemple je viens de la sortir et Ubuntu qui refusait de démarrer viens de démarrer.
Quand j'active la carte dans Ubuntu ... j'ai déjà eu un plantage.
Il s'agit de la longshine 8031G3 réputée compatible !
