problème avec vmplayer sous e17

Juste un petit rapport de noob : j'arrivais pas à faire fonctionner vmplayer avec e17 et en passant sous gnome, ça a marché. Peut-être que j'approfondirai plus tard une tentative de fonctionnement sous e17 parce que j'ai une piste (http://www.vmware.com/community/thread. … 9&tstart=0).

Mais à la rigueur pour le moment si j'en ai besoin et qu'il suffit de repasser sous gnome le temps de la manip, j'en aurai pas besoin très souvent de toute façon donc ça sera pas gênant (je reste sous e17 !!!).

Bref, j'ai l'impression que soit il y a un truc à configurer quelque part soit y'a un bug qui fait que ça tourne pas sous e17. Voili voilou !

edgy + e17 sous vmware, impec, pas un souci, donc je ne peux pas te dire (moi c'est l'inverse, vmware player / windows qui fait tourner edgy)
tu pourrais decrire plus précisément le probleme ?

euh oui :

en gros, l'install se passe très bien (j'ai essayé de trois manières : par les dépôts, par automatix2, et par le tar.gz du site de vmware).

quand je lance le player, (commande vmaplayer, ou /usr/bin/vmplayer), une fenêtre s'ouvre, je vois en général le début de l'appli puis soit ça plante, soit ça disparaît en rendant la main à la ligne de commande sans aucun message d'erreur, d'ailleurs...

NB j'essaie de faire tourner vmplayer sous ubuntu (suis encore à dapper) pour émuler un windows quelconque (en l'occurence celui dont j'ai le CD à savoir win2000pro)

hum ok j'avais pas saisi ... roll
le souci c'est quand tu lances vmware a partir de e17 ... la effectivement ca deviant genant.. ca me fait un peu penser a une variable d'environnement gnome ou plutot gtk qui serait necessaire a vmware, mais la je ne peu pas trop dire ... en tout cas si tu as une solution temporaire c'est cool wink

NB sur le forum anglais, on m'a indiqué que les erreurs étaient reportées dans un fichier log dans le répertoire /tmp/...

Sous gnome, j'ai ouvert vmplayer, et j'ai simplement appuyé sur le bouton annuler pour ne pas ouvrir de vmx et vmplayer s'est refermé normalement. Voici le .log, pour comparaison :

La différence ne se fait qu'à la fin : sous e17, vmplayer a reçu le signal 11 (peut-être au moment où je l'ai tué ??? encore que, je l'ai pas tué tout de suite et le signal 11 est daté de la seconde suivante... comment savoir quel était le process de pid indiqué comme source du signal (si j'ai bien compris ce qui s'est passé)). Enfin en tous cas, j'ai pas vu d'autre différence... j'ai peut-être mal regardé ?
