RB-37

[Résolu] dual boot W7 ubuntu 11.04

Bonjour,
J'ai fait une installation d'ubuntu en dual boot sans regarder les tutos d'install bien évidemment...
W7 fonctionne encore et ubuntu est installé mais je ne peux pas le choisir au démarrage...
l'install d'easy bcd n'y change pas grand chose...
à première vue c'est une question de mbr ... mais comme je ne l'ai pas sauvegarder avant de faire l'install je me pose cette question...
je réefface tout et je recommence ou je peux rajouter un autre mbr existant à la mano ?
ubuntu est installé sur la partition de 320g0

Boote sur un LiveCD ou LiveUSB (option sans installer ubuntu), puis ouvre un terminal (ctrl+alt+t) et tapes la commande

sudo fdisk -lu

(-LU en minuscule)
poste le résultat

idem avec la commande

sudo dd if=/dev/sda bs=512 count=1 | hexdump -C

La première commande affiche ton partitionnement (on verra s'il y a des partitions Linux et Windows)
La deuxième permettra de savoir si l'amorceur d'ubuntu grub-pc est dans le mbr de ton disque.

Ok donc grub-pc n'est pas dans le mbr. Reste à voir s'il a été installé dans la partition système d'ubuntu

sudo dd if=/dev/sda6 bs=512 count=1 | hexdump -C

Edit : je vient de voir que grub-pc semble installé dans la zone amorce de sda5 - et non pas sda6.

A vérifier avec

sudo dd if=/dev/sda5 bs=512 count=1 | hexdump -C

Donc tu t'es trompé de partition pour mettre grub-pc - et donc le chainage avec EasyBCD ne fonctionne pas.
Il faut voir comment installer grub manuellement dans sda6.

Pourquoi ne pas installer Grub dans le MBR du disque dur, sachant que d'après le résultat du Bootinfoscript, les entrées pour démarrer Windows sont bien présentes dans grub.cfg ?

@RB-37 : c'est quoi le modèle de ton PC ? (c'est pour être sûr qu'il s'agit bien d'un modèle grand-public donc non-tatoué)

C'est sur qu'en cas de tatouage, sda6 serait mieux mais je pense que le plus simple c'est de sauvegarder le mbr (et quelques autres secteurs) et de mettre grub-pc dans le mbr.
En cas de pb de fonctionnement on restaure ce qui a été écrasé par grub.

Ton portable est un produit Grand Public. Il n'est pas tatoué et tu peux installer Grub dans le MBR en suivant cette doc : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/comme … aurer_grub
Les 3 méthodes présentées sont utilisables par toi. Tu choisis celle que tu veux.

à noter que lorsque je boot sur w7 il me demande à chaque de vérifier les disques...
J'ai fait la vérification une fois (ça prends du temps wow) puis c'est revenu sur le grub (si j'ai bien compris)
reboot sur w7 re-demande de vérification des disques en skippant la vérif ça boot normalement...!
J'utilise principalement ubuntu donc ça ne me dérange pas mais pour quelqu'un qui souhaite utiliser windows couramment ça peut se révéler vite exaspérant à la longue.
Je pense que ça vient de mon utilisation de boot-repair je crois que j'ai demandé d'installer le grub sur tout les /sda peut-être ne faut-il pas les mettre sur les partitions windows ?
voilà c'était pour compléter... wink et ubuntu marche très très bien yeah!

Ben non, tu n'as pas merdé comme on pouvait le penser à la lecture de ton post  #17 : tu n'as installé l'amorçeur de Grub que dans le MBR du disque dur sda et c'est parfait, c'est juste ce qu'il fallait faire.
Il est à noter que tu as une anomalie dans le secteur de boot de la partition sda5 puisque tu as un secteur de Boot Grub2 pour une partition NTFS, alors que tu devrais avoir un secteur de boot "Windows Vista/7" comme pour les autres partitions NTFS. Cela dit cette anomalie me parait sans conséquence sur le bon fonctionnement et je te conseille de laisser en l'état. Cette anomalie n'est pas récente, on la voit déjà dans le résultat du Boot Info Script de ton post #4
