[Résolu] Ubuntu+win8, UEFI, rapid start : la totale !

Bonsoir à la communauté,

Ahhhh qu'il était doux le temps où on pouvait installer un ubuntu en deux temps trois mouvements mais il faut bien l'avouer, les PC récents avec win8 viennent mettre une jolie pagaille dans ce monde qui commençait à être bien rôdé. J'ai moi même galéré plusieurs heures avant de comprendre ce qu'il m'arrivait. J'ai laissé reposé quelques semaines et me revoilà d'attaque, ce n'est tout de même pas windows qui va m'avoir...

Rapidement, la situation : j'ai un portable récent, dell XPS, il semble qu'il réponde à tous les soucis actuels : windows 8, UEFI, rapid start techno... Bref la totale pour mal démarrer avec Ubuntu en ce moment... Pour tant j'y crois...

Ma question est simple, les discussions sur le forum et la doc sont très riches ici comme toujours mais il faut avoir fait l'école des Chartes et de l'archivistique pour comprendre quelle discussion correspond à quelle version et pour se rendre compte que la dite discussion a déjà 2 ans, bref... Je galère pour trouver quelque chose de clair, un tutoriel qui puisse me rassurer pas à pas dans ma démarche.

J'ai déjà mon ubuntu 64 bits, dernière version qui ronronne sur mon live-USB. J'ai déjà fait sauté le boot secure, je suis passé en legacy et j'ai réussi à démarre en live. Je n'ose pas aller plus loin. Dois-je préparer mon disque dur et le pré-partitionner ? Dois-je faire confiance à l'installation "à côté" ou faire "autre chose" comme semble le préconiser Malbo un peu partout (d'ailleurs merci pour tes nombreuses contribution qui me font à chaque fois un peu plus avancer...) ?

Bref, où en est-on ? J'ai besoin que quelqu'un me fasse le point et me rassure pour que je puisse me lancer !! Merci !!

C'est expliqué dans le forums tous ça faut gratté dans la doc

un conseil prend l'option Gparted  live cd si tu veut formatté le disque entiérement récupére avant tes donné sur un disque externe tu pourra les collé dans ton disque dur aprés installation de la distribution.http://www.commentcamarche.net/download/telecharger-34055364-gparted prend l'option d'installation automatique si tu est novice , une fois ton disque dur  formater
voir le liens en dessous

Et pour la Distribution je te conseille ça marche super http://voyager.legtux.org/ parce que le Super c'est mieux......

Dois-je faire confiance à l'installation "à côté" ou faire "autre chose" comme semble le préconiser

donc vous voulez faire un Dual-boot ?
Avez vous fait une sauvegarde de restauration de Win8 ?

Merci pour vos réponses.

Je pense que la réponse de Sounderk est à entendre dans le cas d'une installation normale mais en effet, comme le remarque alca94, je souhaite faire un dual-boot. J'ai tenté de faire une clé USB de restauration avec l'outil de backup de Dell, mais impossible d'aller au bout du processus, à chaque fois il y a une erreur et aucun commentaire. J'ai bien peur de devoir y aller sans ça... mais j'ai confiance !

Maintenant, je me demande en parcourant le tuto mis en avant dans le forum si je dois suivre ces étapes ou s'il y a plus récent ? Plus sûr comme procédure ? Merci !

Je note - et je t'en félicite - que tu te documentes avant de poster (si tout le monde le faisait, on éviterait les discussions interminables). Le tuto que tu cites dans ton post (et qui a été épinglé par un administrateur admirateur inconnu), c'est moi qui l'ai rédigé et il n'a pas la prétention d'être un tuto et n'est d'ailleurs pas intitulé comme tel. C'est plus un post pour informer des avancées de Ubuntu 13.10 que je constate en matière de cohabitation avec Windows 8. Mais tu noteras que j'insiste bien pour que le choix "Autre chose" soit fait à l'étape 3 de l'installation. Donc, quelque soit la version de Ubuntu que tu vas installer, que ce soit la dernière (Ubuntu  13.10) ou une précédente, il est impératif de sélectionner "Autre chose". Le clou est enfoncé aussi dans la doc elle même (c'est moi qui l'ai enfoncé ce clou) : tu peux lire la note au début de paragraphe 3. Étape 3 : Allouer de l'espace disque :

Pour les ordinateurs préinstallés Windows 8, L'installateur de Ubuntu ne sait pas détecter la présence de Windows 8. Pour un dual-boot, il est donc impératif de sélectionner "Autre chose" pour ne pas risquer l'écrasement de Windows 8

J'ai tenté de faire une clé USB de restauration avec l'outil de backup de Dell, mais impossible d'aller au bout du processus, à chaque fois il y a une erreur et aucun commentaire.

la dernière sauvegarde de win 8 m'a demandé au moins 5 DVD (env. 20 go)

En complément de mon post #5 ci-dessus, je note que tu as écrit dans le post #1 :

Je pense que c'est une connerie d'être passé en "Legacy" mais pour être sûr que c'est bien la cas, je te prie de répondre à la demande suivante : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/boot-info
Tu peux faire le Boot-Info que je te demande depuis ta liveUSB Ubuntu qui "ronronne" même si tu démarres en Legacy sur cette liveUSB

Merci pour les compliments mais il faut bien dire que tu es très actif et prolixe sur cette question sensible qu'est le double-boot avec win8. Moi je te suis pas à pas, j'ai enlevé mon mode legacy ! Bref, par quoi je commence ? Ma procédure est-elle bonne :

0. Installer Ubuntu 13.10 sur une liveUSB en 64 bits.
1. Je désactive le rapid smart technology dans win8 comme indiqué ici (ou pas ?)
2. Je partitionne mon disque dur depuis win pour dégager un espace non alloué à Ubuntu ? (j'ai un DD de 450 dont 280 actuellement occupés par win8, programmes et fichiers, tu me conseilles combien en sachant que j'aimerai passer l'essentiel de mon activité sur Ubuntu ?) comme indiqué dans ta mise au point ici
3. Désactiver le secure boot dans le bios.
4. Booter sur le liveUSB
5. Choisir "autre chose" et procéder à l'installation en indiquant une partition principale et un swap (combien le swap, je trouve plein de chiffres différents ?)
Ça devrait marcher comme ça ? J'ai bien suivi ?

Merci pour tes réponses.
Mon vrai problème, par rapport à mon post #7, c'est que si je suis pas en legacy, j'arrive pas à booter sur la clé USB à cause de l'UEFI qui ne me propose par la clé USB. L'ordinateur démarre directement win8. J'ai désactivé Boot Secure, je peux ajouter des Boot Option dans le bios, je vois la clé USB mais il me demande un Info Path que je ne connais pas... Une idée ?

J'ai écrit dans le post #7 que tu pouvais démarrer en mode Legacy sur la liveUSB pour faire le Boot-Info. Tu vas y arriver ou bien ?

Ton dernier Boot-Info (http://paste.ubuntu.com/6441744/) n'est pas satisfaisant : on y voit toujours mentionné "Please resume and shutdown Windows fully (no hibernation or fast restarting)" comme dans le Boot-Info précédent. Je te prie donc de suivre la procédure que je détaille en caractères gras dans ce post : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.ph … #p11254741
A la fin de l'étape 2, au redémarrage, il faudra que tu redémarres directement sur la liveUSB et que tu refasses un Boot-Info pour que je puisse enfin constater qu'il n'est plus fait mention de pb d'hibernation de Windows 8

Je m'aperçois que j'ai dû mal te guider : j'ai mal tenu compte de ton post #8 dans lequel tu demandes si oui ou non il faut désactiver "rapid smart technology", j'étais persuadé que tu l'avais déjà désactivé. Dans ce post, il y a des indications pour le faire mais c'est pour Windows 7 : je suppose que ça doit applicable à Windows 8. Après cette désactivation, je te prie de suivre les indications que j'ai données dans le post #15 et de poster le Boot-Info. J'espère qu'on va voir disparaître enfin les mentions "Please resume and shutdown Windows fully (no hibernation or fast restarting)"

Pour info, pour ceux qui galèrent et lisent cette discussion, j'ai désactivé IRST dans :
- les options d'alimentation de win8
- l'IRST dans les paramètres du gestionnaire
- l'accélération SSD dans les options
- IRST désactivé dans le BIOS !

Après une redémarrage avant le log de session comme indiqué par malbo, finalement on arrive à ça...

Tu as juste à créer une partition swap et une partition racine. Tu n'as pas besoin de créer autre chose et tu n'as pas à t'occuper de sélectionner quoi que ce soit dans le champ "chargeur d'amorçage" pour la raison que l’installateur de Ubuntu n'utilise pas ce qui est sélectionné à cet endroit : il installe ce qu'il doit installer dans la partition EFI qui existe déjà (c'est sda1).
