Compatibilité Ubuntu 16.04 avec Dell Inspiron 15 Série 5000

Salut à tous,

Je cherche des listes de compatibilité Dell avec la dernière LTS.

Pour l'instant, je cherche à voir si je pourrais l'installer sur un Inspiron 5000.

J'a trouvé des listes mais elles sentent le grenier...

Avez-vous des infos pour moi ?

Avec un ie7 et 8 Go de ram tu mets ce que tu veux, Ubuntu 16.04.LTS conviendra sans problème à moins que tu ne préfères autre chose, perso j'ai gravé plusieurs distri sur un dvd-rw ou sur clé usb ( un support/OS bien sur ) et j'ai essayé jusqu'à trouver celui qui me plait.
Je ne te cache pas que sur mon Dell Latitude 600 je suis passé à Lubuntu 16.04.LTS car plus assez de pêche pour Ubuntu et même Xubuntu, alors qu'il tournait sans problème sous Xubuntu 14.04.LTS mais j'avais aussi envie de changer. Sinon mon principal PC tourne sous Ubuntu Mate car extrêmement fluide; bref au risque de me répéter : c'est une question de convenance personnel, ta bécane peut suivre sans problème. 
Juste une chose, avec tes 8 Go de ram ne mets pas de swap car complètement inutile.

En fait, le nom du modèle qui t'intéresse n'est pas "Inspiron 5000" mais "Inspiron 15 Série 5000" (*). La ligne "Inspiron 5000" qu'on peut voir dans la Liste des portables « Dell » correspond à un vieux modèle : elle a été mise à jour le 05/09/2009 (c'est visible dans les "Anciennes révisions" du document). Moi je ne vois pas de ligne qui corresponde au modèle "Inspiron 15 Série 5000" dans la Liste des portables « Dell » actuellement.

(*) dans le lien que tu as donné dans le post #1, on peut voir que le modèle "Inspiron 15 Série 5000" est équipé d'un processeur Intel de 6ème génération (Skylake) sorti en 2015.

Il n'y a aucune entrée pour la version 16.04 dans la liste du forum. Comment ça se passe généralement pour la mise à jour de cette liste ? Il y a du monde qui teste ? C'est ajouté au fur et à mesure des témoignages sur le forum ? Des articles sur le web ?

Tout un chacun peut ajouter un modèle dans la liste ou modifier une ligne existante. A ma connaissance, il n'y a pas de contrôle. Si tu ajoutes une ligne, on pense que tu sais ce que tu fais. A mon avis, on a raison de faire confiance aux gens qui interviennent dans ces listes (sauf peut-être à ceux qui connaissent mal la référence de leur modèle). J'ai vu un seul connard qui a rempli une ligne délirante pour son modèle et il y a des centaines de modèles...

Je voulais seulement relever qu'il s'agit d'un modèle très récent. C'est donc bien la version la plus récente de Ubuntu, la version 16.04 64 bits, qui convient. Cependant, je ne sais pas affirmer que Ubuntu 16.04 64bits va tourner sans problème dans ce modèle.

Je voulais seulement relever qu'il s'agit d'un modèle très récent. Je ne sais pas affirmer que Ubuntu 16.04 64bits va tourner sans problème dans ce modèle.

Ok, du coup, c'est risqué. Et si ça fonctionne (ou pas!), c'est moi qui vais mettre à jour la liste. ^^

Je regarde la liste en dehors de Dell et il n'y a pour l'instant aucun modèle qui ait été noté comme étant compatible 16.04.

Du coup, d'une manière générale, pour le moment, soit je prends le risque et je partage mon expérience ou alors j'attends que quelqu'un le fasse à ma place.

Je cherche surtout un portable 15 pouces 8Go qui soit compatible, en fait. J'ai parlé du Inspiron 15 Serie 5000 me semblait être un bon candidat à priori, enfin ça me donnait un angle d'approche, en tout cas.

C'est vraiment risqué à fond de prendre un portable-pas-encore-testé-par-la-communauté ? En me référant à la liste, je ne vois aucun portable qui ne fonctionne pas du tout avec Ubuntu, chacun fonctionne au moins après quelques manipes.

Sinon, je me dis que je pourrais poser la question à Dell... (j'ai vu qu'ils fournissent certains 15 pouces avec Ubuntu, mais c'est des 4Go...).

Si tout le monde raisonnait comme ça je me demande où en serait ce forum aujourd'hui ?  D'autant plus que je constate que tu passes ton temps à chercher un pc qui fonctionne avec ubuntu et celà depuis pas mal de mois, voire d'années ? , mais tu le fais exprès ou quoi ? d'autant plus que Malbo à la gentillesse de te répondre et de tout t'expliquer à fond  sur chacun de tes posts ! La patience a des limites à la bêtise et ton attitude me fout en pétard car d'autres ont de réels problèmes et ont réellement besoin des compétences  des participants qualifiés à ce forum. 
Alors une fois pour toute tu vas dans un magasin et tu essaies sur place un appareil qui te convienne sans venir ici poster "50" posts identiques auquels tu as déjà eu des réponses.

Tu peux donner des liens vers des messages de Adminijode pour étayer ce que tu as écrit ? J'avais pourtant regardé les discussions ouvertes par notre ami et ça ne m'a pas sauté aux yeux....En fait, malgré ma gentillesse - qui n'est pas toujours au rendez-vous - je n'aime pas trop l'idée de perdre complètement mon temps et en général, je prends le temps de regarder un peu à qui j'ai affaire.

Je pense qu'il fait référence à ce post, dans lequel je cherchais un portable sous 14.04 et pour lequel j'avais une problématique pour faire du dual screen, que je rencontre à mon boulot. Problématique que j'ai laissé tombé depuis... Et topic auquel tu n'as pas participé, même si tu as déjà participé à d'autres sujets que j'ai lancé comme celui-ci, je te remercie d'ailleurs (je ne l'avais pas fait, et je m'en flagèle). Et il y a plusieurs année, en 2008, je crois je cherchais aussi un 17 pouce portable (que j'ai trouvé depuis), j'ai peut-être posté à ce sujet.

ça c'est une bonne nouvelle !
Ce serait utile que tu démarres une session sur ton Ubuntu 16.04 fraîchement installé, que tu fasses un Boot-Info depuis cette session et enfin que tu donnes l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse à ce post. Intérêt de la chose : pour ceux qui ont le même modèle ou un modèle approchant et qui ont un peu d'expérience sous Linux, ça peut donner un bon exemple d'install réussie et les conforter dans le projet d'installation. Si dans l'avenir j'ai affaire à un novice qui a ce même modèle que toi, moi je sais lire le Boot-Info et je peux m'en servir pour le guider.

Ok, j'ai installé hier soir, ça devrait être encore assez frais ce soir.

J'ai aussi un vieux HP Pavillon sous 14.04, qui n'est pas dans la liste de compatibilité. Je compte upgrader également sur cet ordi là aussi. Est-ce qu'un rapport boot-info serait intéressant sur ce modèle avec la version 14.04 puis 16.04 ?

Vu de ma chaise, c'est toujours intéressant d'enrichir ces listes. Pour ton vieux HP Pavillon, quand tu auras fait l'installation et que tu seras satisfait du résultat, je te conseille de créer une nouvelle discussion dans la section "Installation d'Ubuntu" du forum  au sujet de cet ordi HP et de renseigner là-dedans tout ce que tu crois utile (Boot-Info compris). Ainsi, ça permet d'éviter de trop raconter ta vie dans la ligne qui sera créée pour ce modèle HP : il suffira d'y donner le lien vers la discussion où il y aura toutes les infos.

Oui, ça passe bien par le grub, Windaube 10 et Ubuntu 16.04 se lancent très bien tous les deux.

Du coup, il faut mettre à jour la liste de compatibilité pour dire que ça marche ?

Excuse mes questions mais moi je ne peux aider les autres qu'en apprenant sur ce forum.
Si tu sélectionnes "Windows Boot Manager (sur /dev/sda1)" dans le menu Grub, est-ce que Windows démarre normalement ? Est-ce que c'est la manière que tu as pratiquée jusqu'ici pour aller sur Windows ou bien est-ce que tu passes par un autre chemin pour aller directement sur Windows sans passer par Grub ?

Aucun problème !

Quand j'allume le PC, le grub s'affiche tout seul et j'ai le choix entre ubuntu et windows (je peux te détailler les options, il y en a d'autres si ma mémoire visuelle est encore fiable).

Quand je choisis Windows dans grub, ça démarre bien Windows !

Je n'ai fait que comme ça pour l'instant. J'ai pas encore cherché si on peut mettre un choix par défaut et accéder au grub seulement sur demande.

Merci pour cette précision. En somme, tu as la joie d'avoir un modèle d'ordi dont le démarrage n'est pas bridé par le fabricant. Si HP et d'autres affreux, pouvaient libérer également leur UEFI, on souffrirait moins pour installer Ubuntu en dual-boot.     
Si tu souhaites que je me charge de créer une ligne pour ton modèle dans la Liste des portables « Dell », je peux le faire sans problème. Suffit de me le dire. Mais si tu as envie de le faire toi-même, fais-le.

J'ai créé la ligne tout en bas ici. Surtout hésite pas, si j'ai écrit des conneries.

De la même manière que pour le HP Pavillon, je peux peut-être ajouter une ligne pour un Dell Latitude 5450 et que je ne vois pas dans la liste. J'ai eu des problèmes de "touche coincée" qui s'est résolu en upgradant le bios.

Je crois bien que je n'avais pas eu de problème de blocage propriétaire avec l'UEFI sur mon vieux HP. Même si j'ai déjà vu ça sur d'autres HP.

Au fait, le service client de Dell m'a dit que Ubuntu 16.04 est compatible avec tous leurs modèles actuels. Après bon, je pense qu'il faut faire attention au discours commercial.
