[Résolu] Ubuntu 18.04 s'y prend toujours à deux fois pour démarrer
Bonjour,
Sur un ordinateur portable en dual boot avec Vista, après migration de 16.04 vers 18.04 en ligne à partir du gestionnaire de mises à jour Ubuntu ne démarre jamais du premier coup.
Après l'affichage du menu (Grub, je crois) qui permet de choisir entre Ubuntu ou Vista, apparaît une bande bariolée plus ou moins large.
Dans le meilleur des cas Ubuntu reboote tout seul après quelques secondes et Ubuntu se lance correctement. Souvent Ubuntu reste bloqué sur l'écran avec la bande bariolée, il faut alors éteindre et rallumer le PC pour que Ubuntu se lance normalement.
Cela me fait un peu penser à un problème de pilote de la carte graphique qui ne serait pas trouvé du premier coup. J'ai vu sur le forum des problèmes à peu près similaires mais mon faible niveau en "ubuntologie" ne m'a pas permis d'en tirer profit.
Je pensais que problème pourrait se résoudre au fil des mises à jour, mais que nenni !

Si cet ordi est celui qu'on peut voir actuellement dans ta signature :
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS en dual boot avec Vista , Portable Dell Ram 2 GO Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.00GHz × 2 32 bits
ton souci est dû à un bug de la version 32 bits de Ubuntu 18.04. Si c'est bien le cas, tu peux ajouter provisoirement le paramètre de noyau nopti en procédant comme j'explique dans ce post (sauf que tu ajouteras nopti au lieu de nomodeset) : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.p … 1#p9820021

Elle a bien fonctionné pour enrico_69003 (voir ce post)
EDIT : même si cette solution marche aussi pour toi, la solution la plus durable est d'abandonner la version 32 bits de Ubuntu 18.04 pour la version 64 bits de Ubuntu 18.04 (une installation toute neuve). Motif : du fait que la version 32 bits est abandonnée dans les développements actuels (plus de version 32 bits dans Ubuntu 19.04 et versions suivantes), les développeurs vont laisser crever la version 32 bits dans ses bugs.

Merci Malbo pour ta réponse rapide et précise.
Plutôt que bricoler pour essayer de réparer je crois que je vais suivre ton conseil : faire une réinstallation complète de Ubuntu 18.04 en 64 bits pour repartir sur de bonnes bases.
Quelle est la marche à suivre une fois téléchargée et gravée la dernière version ? Faut-il reformater la partition avec Gparted ou bien existe-t-il une option qui permet d'écraser la précédente installation ? Pas de risque de compromettre le dual boot avec Vista ?

Pour avoir un état des lieux avant les travaux, je te prie de faire un Boot-Info depuis une session de ton Ubuntu 18.04 installé et de donner l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.
EDIT : Si tu veux installer Ubuntu 64 bits, je te recommande de télécharger ubuntu-18.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso à cette adresse : http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases … -amd64.iso (Explication : si tu télécharges la version proposée par défaut, tu auras la version 18.04.2 qui vient avec un noyau et une gestion de l'affichage adaptée aux ordis récents.)

Dans ce cas, on va changer le scénario : je te propose de télécharger le fichier ISO de la version 18.04.1 64 bits à l'adresse que j'ai indiquée dans le post #4, de réaliser une LiveUSB qui utilise ce fichier ISO et faire le Boot-Info depuis une session live (ordi démarré sur la LiveUSB, choix "Essayer Ubuntu"). Tu donneras l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

En faisant des essais sur une machine virtuelle (mais concernant Ubuntu 19.04), je constate le même problème de démarrage, quitte à redémarrer celle-ci à la mode bourrin. Je me demande s'il ne s'agit pas du même problème.

Je ne comprends pas pourquoi avoir ainsi publié le contenu de mon boot-info sans autre explication alors que Malbo avait demandé de lui en fournir seulement l'url.
N'y a-t-il pas un risque de sécurité d'afficher de façon pérenne des infos qui n'ont qu'une durée de vie limitée sur le site pastebin ?

Je ne sais pas si c'est une bonne idée d'installer ubuntu 64 bits dans un ordinateur ne disposant que de 2 Go de RAM.
A mon avis, il serait préférable de mettre l'option indiquée.
Comme le bug explique clairement que cela résout le problème, tu pourrais faire la modification directement sans test.
1) Lorsque UBUNTU s'est décidé à booter, tu modifies la ligne suivante
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=" quiet splash "
du fichier /etc/default/grub pour qu'elle devienne
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=" quiet splash nopti "
2) Tu mets à jour le grub avec cette commande
sudo update-grub
Si tu choisis d'installer le UBUNTU du support live USB, Le boot-info montre que c'est bien la version prévue par MALBO
boot-info is executed in live-session (Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS, bionic, Ubuntu, x86_64)
Cependant, il n'y a pas tellement de place disque disponible

A mon avis, tu devrais booter avec windows et lui demander de rétrécir la partition SDA6 (certainement son D:) Sil peut libérer 20 à 25 Go cela serait parfait.
Tu pourras alors installer ubuntu avec l'option "A coté".
Sinon , il faudra écraser le ubuntu actuel par le nouvel ubuntu
Le mode opératoire est de choisir la méthode "Autre chose", de lui laisser découvrir les partitions , de sélectionner la partition SDA7 et de l'allouer au point de montage /
Il ne faudra pas que tu demandes le formatage de cette partition si tu as des données personnelles à conserver dans le répertoire /home/pierre et que tu prennes le même nom d'utilisateur

Merci à tous pour vos contributions.
Je me suis lancé et j'ai réinstallé Ubuntu 18.04.1 comme le conseillait Malbo.
Lors d'une première tentative le programme d'installation ne proposait qu'une installation à côté de Vista et de ubuntu déjà installé. J'ai donc abandonné et j'ai supprimé les 2 partitions de la précédente installation à l'aide de Gparted du live DVD. J'en ai profité aussi pour supprimer la partition MediaDirect que je n'utilise jamais en prenant soin de neutraliser le bouton en collant dessus une pièce de 1 centime.
J'ai relancé l’installation qui s'est passée sans encombre. Le démarrage se fait tout à fait normalement (plus besoin de s'y reprendre à deux fois). Le dual boot fonctionne bien et Vista peut être lancé sans problème. Pour le moment tout semble fonctionner correctement de façon très fluide.
Il y a juste une petite chose que je n'ai pas comprise. A la fin de l'installation on proposait de télécharger environ 260 Mo de mises à jour. Comme il était tard j'ai choisi "Me le rappeler plus tard" et j'ai éteint l'ordinateur. Ce matin on n'annonçait plus que 56 Mo de mises à jour ! Quid des 210 Mo manquants ?
