Erreur de grub-efi-amd64 lors installation DualBoot
Bonjour à tous,
Voilà le problème, que je sais largement répandu dans la communauté mais les diverses réponses déjà données ne m'ont pas aidées. Peut être qu'une réponse personnalisée pourra être apportée si j'expose mon problème ici. Bref, voilà de quoi il s'agit.
- Je dispose d'un HP Zbook G3, avec un SSD de 500Go... J'ai installé sans difficulté un Windows 10 64bits sur une partition de ce SSD, qui était lui complètement vierge avant.
- J'ai créé grâce à Rufus une clé usb bootable avec Ubuntu 18.04.04 dessus (GPT, UEFI mode).
- Mon BIOS est configuré en Legacy Disabled, Secure Boot Disabled
je lance le Live USB Ubuntu, commence l'installation et j'obtiens vers la fin de l'installation, l'erreur grub-efi-amd64 signed failed to install into target/
J'ai essayé de téléchargement les mises à jour pendant l'installation, changer les mode BIOS/UEFI, refais une clé bootable ... rien n'y fait:!!

Chose intrigante supplémentaire: un boot-repair plante systématiquement pendant le Unhide boot menu. le système se fige et je suis obligé d'éteindre violemment le PC. La piste Boot-repair est donc aussi une impasse.
Voilà! si de bonnes âmes veulent bien se donner la peine de me donner des pistes de réflexion, je suis preneur!

Please do not forget to make your BIOS boot on sda1/efi/.../grub*.efi file!
If your computer reboots directly into Windows, try to change the boot order in your BIOS.

Bonjour à tous,
Malgré tes indications Malbo, impossible de réparer mon grub 
J'ai effectivement créé la clé, booté dessus, puis sélectionné une des nombreuses propositions de kernel Linux (la plus récente, en mode graphique).
J'ai donc eu accès à mon Ubuntu "de l'intérieur", comme stipulé.
Mais rien n'y fait: la désinstallation puis l'installation de grub conduit à une erreur concernant grub-efi-amd64. Une mise à jour via apt update se conclut par le même message.
Un boot repair ne fonctionne pas non plus et me dit d'installer une partition GPT avec /boot/efi dessus. Partition qui existe déjà d'après Gparted.
Je peux donc utiliser mon Ubuntu si je passe par la clé Grub2 DIsk mais je n'arrive pas à obtenir le menu Grub au démarrage de l'ordinateur.
Bref, je ne comprend pas bien où est le problème et comment le résoudre.
Peut être pouvez vous m'apporter d'autres pistes à explorer ??

Bonjour,
Je te prie de démarrer sur Windows et de quitter Windows par "Redémarrer" (et non pas par "Arrêter") de sorte que la partition Windows ne soit pas mise en hibernation par la fonction "démarrage rapide" de Windows 10. Au redémarrage, tu connectes la LiveUSB Super Grub2 Disk et tu sélectionnes le démarrage de l'ordi sur cette LiveUSB, tu choisis le démarrage sur le Ubuntu installé. Depuis une session de ce Ubuntu installé, fais un Boot-info et donne l'URL de ce Boot-info dans ta réponse.

Salut,
Une simple remarque qui peut peut-être faire avancer les choses...
C'est un de ces nombreux cas où il est visiblement impossible d'écrire en Nvram depuis Ubuntu, ce qui provoque le plantage. Ça me rappelle ce sujet et la solution proposée par Geole : https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=2045803
Je pense qu'il faut en effet passer par une installation sans grub via "ubiquity -b", pour ensuite (solutions 2 et 3) l'ajouter dans la partition efi sans écrire en Nvram. Donc, ça laisse trois suites envisageables :
1. Utiliser Refind (comme le conseille la fin du rapport boot-info.). Si ça fonctionne avec Refind, on n'a pas besoin de grub du tout.
2. Rediriger le fichier bootmgr vers le fichier grubx64.efi (comme le conseille la fin du rapport boot-info).... ce qui risque de sauter à chaque mise à niveau de Windows.
3. Substituer le fichier grubx64.efi à bootmgfw.efi ... C'est du bidouillage, mais bon.. la fin justifie les moyens.
4. Et pourquoi pas... utiliser le subterfuge de boot/bootx64.efi pour faire démarrer ce que l'on veut pour tromper le PC.
Je m'étonne que Geole, qui aime ces situations, ne soit pas encore intervenu. Perso, je vais m'abstenir, car je veux d'abord tester tout ça en PC virtuel avant de m'aventurer dans un suivi détaillé.
Edit. A noter que, comme tu as Supergrub2disk qui fonctionne et qui lance ton Linux, toute la partie chroot proposée dans le lien peut être évitée, ce qui simplifie pas mal les choses.

sudo efibootmgr -v Et tu donneras également le retour complet (*) de cette commande.

Si la piste suivie par Malbo ne donne rien, je peux te proposer d'explorer ensuite celle de l'utilisation de Refind. J'ai exploré quelques directions à suivre dans des cas comme le tien...
Ce sera toujours plus simple que l'installation d'un grub hors Nvram en suivant les indications proposées par Geole (j'ai fait le test, mais j'ai beaucoup galéré car tout ne fonctionne pas dans ses commandes, et je dois recommencer au moins une fois pour être sûr de ce que je fais).

Je te propose de faire une première chose. Réinstaller ton Ubuntu sur /dev/sda4 sans grub. Ni Refind. Ainsi, ton Linux ne fonctionnera pas, mais on partira d'une base saine. Car j'ai noté que les plantages de grub avaient des conséquences sur la suppression de paquets... Au moins, ton installation ira au bout.
Tu lances une invite de commandes, puis tu tapes
ubiquity -bA la fin de l'installation, tu pourras booter sur Supergrub2disk pour lancer le noyau Linux, et on verra comment installer Refind manuellement.

Excuse ma question un peu bête ikewdu, mais à quel moment j'exécute cette commande?
Là, j'ai booté grâce à ma clé Supergrub2disk sur mon Ubuntu, j'ai lancé la commande ubiquity -b mais au moment de choisir les partitions (/dev/sda4) on me dit que / existe déjà et ne peut être démontée. Je poursuis malgré tout la procédure d'installation et pour finir j'obtiens "Error opening file /usr/share/ubiquity-slideshow/slides/index.html no such file or directory.
Edit: comment procéder à l'installation sans mettre Grub ?

Non, tu démarres sur le liveUSB d'installation, et tu lances l'installation simplement via la commande. Tu te contentes d'écraser la partition ubuntu actuelle.

j'ai bien effectué ta procédure (merci pour ta page de tuto). J'ai donc réinstallé Ubuntu sur /dev/sda4 sans grub. Puis j'ai lancé rEFInd depuis une clé bootable.Voici mon menu offert par rEFind:

Là, tu me poses une colle... Je n'avais pas envisagé un plantage à ce niveau-là. Vois avec Supergrub2disk si tu as le même souci...
- Si c'est le cas, il serait préférable de tester une autre version de la 18.04 ou de tester avec l'option nomodeset afin de voir si ce n'est pas un souci de carte graphique.
- Si ça démarre correctement avec SG2D, il sera inutile d'aller plus loin car on retrouvera le problème en installant les fichiers en partition efi.

Je peux d'ors et déjà te répondre: j'ai le même comportement avec SG2D: j'ai une floppé de choix possible lorsque je veux booter (différentes versions de noyaux, différentes version de grubx64, etc...).
Et là aussi, je ne boote correctement qu'une fois sur 5 et 6 disons. Dans les autres cas --> plantage quand j'appuie sur OK après avoir renseigné le mdp.
Je bidouille un peu les pc depuis un certain temps (enfin je suis pas novice) et là, c'est un mystère, jamais autant galéré.
Surtout, qu'avant que tout ceci commence, le pc en question disposait d'un DUalboot Windows/KaliLinux avec un grub fonctionnel. J'ai voulu changer Kali pour Ubuntu et les ennuies ont commencé....
je vais essayer avec un Ubuntu 19.04. Mais je crois qu'en début de recherche, j'avais essayé sans succès.
Est-ce que une réinstall complète du disque (du WIndows, du Ubuntu et de tout le reste) pourrait être une solution envisageable ?

Tes choix sont des traces des installations précédentes, ta priorité est de mettre en place une version stable. On verra le reste (le demarrage) dans un second temps.
Je ne vois pas trop l'intérêt de réinstaller Windows. Il n'a rien à voir dans cette affaire.

Alors, j'ai essayé d'installer sans grub les versions 16, 18, 19 et 20 de Ubuntu.
Toujours le même résultat: lorsque j'essaye de lancer la distrib depuis Refind, le lancement plante juste après validation du mot de passe. Impossible de rejoindre le bureau de la distrib.
Et même chose avec SG2D, je n'arrive pas à rejoindre le bureau.
Que faire ; que faire ?

Je viens enfin apporter la touche finale à ce sujet, qui lui permettra de passer (enfin!) en mode résolu!!
Je vais détailler les étapes (pas compliquées au final!) de résolution.
- Formatage complet du disque (donc du Windows; avec le recul peut etre pas nécessaire)
- s'assurer (dans mon cas, pc HP en tout cas) que les mode SEcure Boot et Legacy sont désactivés.
- Lancement de la clé Live Ubuntu 20.04, Installer Ubuntu
- Vers la fin de l'installation, on tombe en erreur, qui concerne le grub. Poursuivre malgré tout.
- Rebooter le PC en utilisant SG2D, et en choisissant l'Ubuntu fraichement installé.
- Lancer les commandes suivantes:
sudo mount /dev/sda* /mnt
mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev
mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc
mount --bind /sys /mnt/sys
mount /dev/sda+ /mnt/boot/efi
mount -o remount,rw /dev/sda+ /mnt/boot/efi
mkdir /mnt/hostrun
mount --bind /run /mnt/hostrun
chroot /mnt
mkdir /run/lvm
mount --bind /hostrun/lvm /run/lvm
grub-install /dev/sda
update-grub
exit
umount /mnt/dev
umount /mnt/proc
umount /mnt/sys
umount /mnt/boot/efi
umount /mnt/hostrun
umount /mnt/run/lvm
umount /mntRemplacer * dans sudo mount /dev/sda* /mnt par le nom de la partition linux filesystem.
Remplacer + dans sudo mount /dev/sda+ /mnt/boot/efi par votre partition EFI .
Utiliser fdisk -l pour lister les partitions.
(Merci à ce poste ce poste) pour l'aide.
Et voilà, un beau Ubuntu avec un grub fonctionnel.
On peut alors réinstaller le Windows (encore une fois surement pas nécessaire, mais pas dérangeant dans mon cas).
Enfin, pour corriger deux problème annexes, voici les résolutions trouvées
- pour le blocage du Ubuntu lors de la validation de saisie du mdp à la connexion: modifier le /etc/default/grub et ajouter nomodeset sur la ligne commençant par Linux. Je pense qu'il s'agissait d'un bug lié à la gestion de la carte graphique. Grâce à ce paramètre, on charge le module graphique après la connexion, ce qui dans mon cas, règle le problème.
- pour le blocage du Ubuntu lors de l'extection/reboot: dans le même fichier, sur la même ligne que précédemment, ajouter acpi=force
- dans les deux cas, finir par un
update-grubVoilà, j'espère que tout ceci vous aidera.

Ravi que tu t'en sois sorti. Deux ou trois remarques tout de même, si tu permets.
1. Je déduis de ton explication que tu installes grub tout à fait classiquement via un chroot... Ce qui me conduit à me demander ce qu'il a de différent avec l'installation "de base" ou celle qui a échoué en passant par SG2D. J'avoue ne pas comprendre pourquoi ça fonctionne mieux dans ces conditions.
2. Lors de mes essais, j'aboutis à cette erreur (qui arrête nette mon installation, laquelle ne va pas à son terme). Au démarrage suivant, j'obtiens ce message (constaté sur plusieurs essais). J'en ai déduit que l'installation est bancale, et c'est confirmé notamment lorsque je tente de réinstaller certains paquets qui ont été mal désinstallés (gparted, par exemple).
3. Le reste est connu (option nomodeset, c'est bien "provisoirement" car on perd une grande partie du potentiel de la carte graphique). Quant à acpi=force, jamais testé...

Quelques éléments de réponses:
1. effectivement, j'ai finalement installé grub "normalement", sans passer par de logiciels tiers. J'ai bien eu une erreur de configuration de grub à la fin de mon installation (pas celle mentionnée dans ton point 2.) mais tout est rentré dans l'ordre par la suite.
2. Ce sont les erreurs que j'avais lorsque j'ai créé ce sujet!! Et qu'aucune de mes manipulations n'avaient réussi à réparer. Merci à toi d'avoir créé un tuto sur ce sujet
