Avec cette ligne tu vois que le test est en cours    et qu'il en reste 90% à faire et qu'il est en train de traiter cette plage (331178656-331244191)

De mémoire il ne fait le changement que de 10% en 10%

Je pense que s'il se termine correctement, il indiquera  0% et la plage finira par 999999999

S'il se plante pendant l'exécution,      rien ne va plus changer.    Donc si au bout   d'une heure rien ne change, tu peux considérer qu'il est planté et donc fournir le rapport final qui indiquera le secteur responsable. A  fournir aussi si tout est  correct.

sudo smartctl  -s on -a /dev/sdb

on passera alors à la seconde moitié du disque.

D'accord. Merci beaucoup. Je vais le surveiller au mieux.

Quand j'envisageais que l'ordi puisse s'arrêter de façon imprévue, je ne pensais pas au processus de test en lui même, risque auquel tu as répondu, mais à un autre risque propre à l'ordi, et dont je n'ai jamais parlé : il a deux boutons marche-arrêt, et l'un des deux a un problème. Comme il n'est pas remplaçable, je fonctionne avec l'autre, mais il arrive que le premier se mette en mode "off" et provoque un arrêt imprévu de l'ordi, que je dois redémarrer comme après un arrêt "sauvage" ou un plantage.

Que dois-je faire, si cela se produisait, pendant le test ?

Tu donnes le retour pour qu'on récupère le N°

sudo smartctl  -s on -a /dev/sdb

Si ton incident matériel se produit pendant le test, il faut relancer le test. Il recommence à son début, C'est pour cela que j'ai coupé en deux morceaux.

Il y aurait une défaillance physique du disque à cet endroit ? (j'essaye de me faire une "idée" logique, mais ça reste très très vague, pour moi, toutes ces notions.)

J'ai pris cette méthode  car j'avais vu qu'il y avait très peu de secteurs déclarés illisibles.

Je constate qu'il ne s'est pas comporté comme  je le croyais. Il a repris à zéro au lieu de continuer...   (Je tenterais de m'en souvenir)

On  repart pour la lecture des huit secteurs.
La dernière fois, j'ai été surpris que quelques-uns soient lisibles et il m'a semblé que le pourcentage est mal géré.

Bonjour,

@Coline, tu es entrain de voir avec geole l'état exact de ton disque dur pour savoir dans quelle mesure tu peux continuer à l'utiliser. On constate que la situation n'est pas stabilisé (sans juger de la criticité). Je te recommande fortement de sauvegarder les données personnelles que tu as sur ce disque (et uniquement celles là). Ce sont les seules données pour lesquelles nous ne pourrons pas faire grand chose (il existe des outils qui aident à la récupération, mais sans garantie).

Pour tout le reste, applications, pilotes... il y aura moyen de trouver une solution.

Peux tu donner le retour de :

lsblk -o name,fstype,size,mountpoint

Ensuite, je propose de voir la quantité de données sur ce disque (avec la commande du) pour avoir une idée de ce qu'il y aurait besoin de sauvegarder au maximum

merci de ton aide. Oui, j'avais noté tes conseils, déjà lors des premiers messages. J'ai sauvegardé tout mon "dossier personnel", mais ce n'est sûrement pas suffisant, tu as raison.
