Une dernière chose, que je viens de découvrir par hasard.
Le fait que je soit sur le secteur ou sur la baterie influe sur la commande
Sur secteur : 15 fps
Sur baterie : 500fps
C'est vraiment normal ce genre de truc ???

glxgear c'est pour tester l'opengl de ta carte
enfin, une très petite portion des fonctions opengl
Jonny_the_dog > oui, car justement, glxgears utilise "beaucoup trop" le processeur principal (pas celui de la carte graphique). Et vu que lorsque tu es sur batterie, le processeur abaisse sa fréquence, les résultats sont plus faibles.

Non, moi c'est l'inverse, le fps augmente sur batterie, et il est a l'agonie sur le secteur.

Vi bien sûr, pour afficher 3 roues qui tournent :]
--> Jonny_the_dog : ben c'est clair, c'est bien galère mais hésites pas à retester car tu vois tout ce week end je viens de le passer sur mon Athlon 64 fixe, et pouf un moment ca marche... courage, si tu vois que ca vas pas, prends un Picon Bière (mais fais le viking tu vois genre 50/50)
edit : l'abus d'alcool ... tout ca, ne commencez pas !

Oki, En tous cas sa fait chaud au coeur de voir que vous avez passer du temps a eesayer de ressoudre mon probleme. Tout n'est pas perdu, meme si sa marche po tout a fais, j'ai appris touplein de truc sur le serveur X.

Avant de poster, je voudrai déjà vous remercier pour se post, j'ai réussi à avoir ce qu'il fallait sur glxinfo | grep rendering avec Yes, fglrxinfo qui me donne :

une fois installé, beryl et emerald comme ceci :
Installation de Beryl et Emerald
1.
Installez les paquets pour Beryl :
sudo apt-get install beryl beryl-core beryl-plugins beryl-plugins-data beryl-settings beryl-manager
2.
Installez les paquets pour Emerald :
sudo apt-get install emerald emerald-themes
3.
Vous pouvez maintenant lancer Beryl à l'aide de cette commande :
beryl-manager
Lorsque je lance beryl-manager ... voici le resultat :
XGL absent, checking for NVIDIA
Nvidia Absent, assuming AIGLX
beryl: SmcOpenConnection failed : Authentification Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed

Où est mon erreur ? (surtout le Nvidia qui ressort qui me fait peur)

alors voila j'avais essayé y a quelques mois d'installer et de configurer mon portable pour avoir la 3D et je n'avais pas reussi, je suis sous drapper 6.06 mon portable est un portable dell 6400 avec une ati X1400 j'aimerai avoir vos avis dois je installer les driver proprietaire ou les drivers libre pour avoir une chance que ca fonctionne.
voici deux trois info sur mon systeme:

Neophyte en Linux, je suis tente d'installer Ubuntu.
J'ai un Dell Inspiron 6400 (comme GanGanZH ci-dessus) avec une carte ATI Mobility Radeon X1400. Tout comme avec la distribution Mandriva PowerPack 2006 precedemment, je me heurte a une definition graphique nettement insuffisante et des images deformees. Chez Mandriva, on n'a jamais cru bon de repondre a mes questions, contrairement a ce que proclament les documents de la distribution. J'essaie donc Ubuntu - On m'a dit que c'etait une distribution tres orientee "utilisateurs qui ne veulent pas se prendre excessivement la tete".
J'ai passe pas mal de temps a lire les messages postes sur ce forum, sur cette question et je ne comprends pas les reponses. Pratiquement et simplement, comment faire reconnaitre ma carte graphique? Pour le moment, j'utilise le Live CD, et ferai ma migration definitive lorsque je serai sur de pouvoir produire proprement.
J'espere que quelqu'un aura la patience de trouver des mots justes et simples, et non de ce jargon incomprehensible et rebutant pour les debutants.

Bonsoir a tous,
J'ai localise le fichier xorg.conf, mais apparemment, je ne dispose pas des droits de modification.
Je rappelle que j'utilise pour le moment le Live CD. J'ai l'intention de quitter MS Windows des que j'aurai resolu mes problemes de carte graphique ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, mais pour le moment, Windows la reconnait et me permet de travailler.
J'ai lu que plusieurs d'entre vous ont egalement un Dell Inspiron 6400 equipe de cette carte. Avez-vous pu resoudre vos problemes d'installation d'un pilote efficace?

Tu ne pourras rien faire concret à partir du liveCD.
Crée-toi 2 partitions (1 swap et 1 pour / ) et installe Ubuntu en parallèle de Windows.
C'est le seul moyen que tu as de pouvoir tester vraiment ton matériel "exotique" que le liveCD ne prend pas en charge comme tu le souhaites.
Cependant, as-tu vraiment besoin de la 3D ? C'est tout ce qu'apporte réellement le pilote propriétaire

1. C'est vrai que je n'ai pas besoin de la 3D, mais il me semble que les drivers appropriés apportent certainement quelque chose de plus. Sous Windows, une mire photo a son apparence normale de référence. Avec le pilote générique chargé avec Edgy Eft, mon image est étirée dans le sens de la largeur.
2. Il y a quelques mois j'avais acquis et installé une distribution Mandriva PowerPack 10.2 (2006) et installée en parallèle avec Windows. Coincidence ou pas de chance, quelques jours plus tard, impossible de rebooter aucun des deux systèmes. A la hotline de DELL, on m'a indiqué que LILO avait détruit le MBR et on m'a remplacé mon disque dur au titre de la garantie. Je n'ai pas envie que ça recommence. J'ai besoin quotidiennement d'une machine où mes applications soient disponibles.
Je vais peser le pour et le contre. Bonne journée

Si ce n'est que ça ton problème, alors ça se règle dans le fichier de configuration xorg.conf. Ceci étant sûrement dû à une mauvaise reconnaissance automatique de ton écran.
Vérifie quand même que le pilote lancé automatiquement est bien ati ou radeon (via la commande lsmod. Il me semble que pour la série des ATI X1.. c'est en mode VESA que se lance X avec le liveCD et je ne sais pas comment se comporte réellement, suite à une installation, le pilote radeon libre avec ce genre de carte.
Si l'on pouvait bénéficier d'un retour d'expérience ce serait sympa.

Rassure-toi pour le retour d'experience. Je le considere comme un devoir, y compris le fruit de mes recherches personnelles. C'est, je crois, l'esprit meme du logiciel libre.
J'ai verifie un certain nombre de details de xorg.conf. C'est bien le pilote VESA qui est designe par defaut mais je n'ai pas les autorisations de modifications. Pour revenir a ta proposition, je vais proceder aux backups necessaires avant d'installer Ubuntu Edgy Eft sur mon disque dur. Si je ne trouve pas de solution, je serai quitte pour passer une journee a reinstaller Windows et mes logiciels habituels.
Desole pour l'absence des accents. Mon portable a un clavier UK et la version Live CD ne les prend pas en charge, quelque soit la configuration de clavier que j'annonce a l'initialisation.

Normal vu la vieille version des pilotes que tu utilises
Cinq versions sont sorties depuis... il y a peut être eu des améliorations
