[Résolu] Cryptsetup : cryptsetup failed, bad password or options

Bonjour à tous,

Suite au passage d'Ubuntu à Linux Mint, j'ai commis l'erreur (commune?) de cocher la case "Chiffrer la nouvelle installation d'Ubuntu par sécurité"... Donc, dorénavant, au démarrage de LinuxMint m'est demandé le mot de passe que j'ai utilisé pour le cryptage et celui ci n'est pas reconnu et le message "Cryptsetup : cryptsetup failed, bad password or options" apparaît. Bien qu'il soit "compliqué" - plus long que complexe -, je suis bien entendu quasi-certain de mon mot de passe, sinon je ne ferai pas cette démarche.

Après recherches dans le forum, j'ai trouvé des cas similaires : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.ph … #p15928851 ; http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1752961 et http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1221321. Mais qui ont été résolus par le fait que le personnes ont retrouvé leur mot de passe ou bien ont réinstallé en écrasant (a priori). Cette dernière option que je ne peux me permettre, ayant une session Windows commune à toute la famille, bien entendue dont je n'ai pas de sauvegarde... hum....

En jetant un oeil à Gparted, je me retrouve donc avec une espèce de "meta-partition" crypt-luks que je ne peux ni utiliser, ni pénétrer, ni réinstaller.
Le problème semblant être surtout un problème de type de clavier, Français-Azerty ou English-Qwerty, le mot de passe ayant été tapé en Azerty durant l'installation, mais ne pouvant être tapé qu'en Qwerty lors du démarrage de LinuxMint. Et je n'ai trouvé aucun moyen lors de ce démarrage de taper les accents...
Quelqu'un aurait il une solution à ce sujet précis?

Sinon pourrai-je, excuser la naïveté d'un néophyte, récupérer le MBR de Windows, sans passer par le Grub nouvellement installé de LinuxMint?
Car tout compte fait, ce ne sont que ce qu'il y a sur ma partition de Windows qui m'est important.

Si tu as pu cocher la case "Chiffrer la nouvelle installation d'Ubuntu par sécurité", c'est que tu as fait une installation qui a écrasé tout ce qu'il y avait sur ton disque dur de 1 To. Donc si tu avais Windows sur ce disque dur, il n'existe plus.

Merci de ta réponse, même si c'est celle-ci...
En somme lorsque j'ai installé LinuxMint sur la partition sur laquelle il y avait Ubuntu précédemment, le fait de chiffrer la nouvelle installation écrase l'entièreté de mon disque dur, alors que je pensais n'agir que sur la partition concernée? Si ce nest à dégoûter de "jouer" avec la sécurisation par cryptage, cela peut l'être tout autant de l'installation/utilisation de Linux...

Donc, si j'ai bien compris, même si je pouvais dorénavant pénétrer dans LinuxMint ça ne me serait d'aucune utilité. C'est un fait certain et pour rendre l'ordinateur utilisable il me faudra de nouveau faire une installation en "écrasant" ce qu'il y a de présent sur le disque dur?

En somme lorsque j'ai installé LinuxMint sur la partition sur laquelle il y avait Ubuntu précédemment, le fait de chiffrer la nouvelle installation écrase l'entièreté de mon disque dur, alors que je pensais n'agir que sur la partition concernée?

Je me suis mal fait comprendre aussi je vais donner quelques infos supplémentaires. Tu as été victime d'un bug de Ubuntu qui affecte les versions 14.04 et 14.04.1 de Ubuntu et qui affecte très certainement la version de Linux Mint que tu as tenté d'installer avec le résultat calamiteux que l'on sait. Il s'agit du Bug #1265192. Tu as dû sélectionner à l'étape 3 de l'installation une option du genre "Supprimer Ubuntu XX.XX et réinstaller" en pensant légitimement que l'installateur allait seulement remplacer Ubuntu par Linux Mint en laissant ton Windows intact mais c'était compter sans ce foutu bug. Ma bonne connaissance de la perfidie de l'installateur de Ubuntu me permet de savoir que si tu as eu la possibilité de cocher la case "chiffrer la nouvelle installation", c'est que tu avais déjà fait le mauvais choix : tu avais déjà sélectionné "Supprimer Ubuntu XX.XX et réinstaller" sinon cette case "chiffrer la nouvelle installation" aurait été grisée et tu n'aurais pas pu la cocher.

Donc, si j'ai bien compris, même si je pouvais dorénavant pénétrer dans LinuxMint ça ne me serait d'aucune utilité.

C'est un fait certain et pour rendre l'ordinateur utilisable il me faudra de nouveau faire une installation en "écrasant" ce qu'il y a de présent sur le disque dur?

Pour moi c'est certain : il faut réinstaller Windows en le laissant écraser tout ce qu'il y a sur le disque dur et ensuite installer Ubuntu (ou son cousin Linux Mint) en dual-boot.

Pour toute installation ou réinstallation d'une distribution Linux, ne fais jamais confiance à l'installation automatique et prend toujours le choix qui permet de faire l'installation en "manuel" (c'est le choix "Autre chose" pour Ubuntu et ses dérivés à l'étape 3 de l'installation). C'est le choix compliqué mais c'est celui où tu maîtrises ce qui va être fait à tes pauvres partitions. Il faut quand même savoir que même des cadors se font piéger comme des bleus par des choix d'installation automatique, du genre installation sur le mauvais "disque" (quand on a plusieurs lecteurs) : ça c'est vu sur ce forum. Donc installation en "manuel" et pas de mauvaise surprise.

Je me permets de ré-ouvrir ce fil de discussion, parcequ'en installant ubuntu 15.10, j'ai fait la même chose.
Bon, moi, d'écraser tout mon disque dur ne me pose pas de souci.
Le souci, c'est qu'ayant moi aussi coché la case et ayant entré le mot de passe en azerty, il semble que le clavier soit en qwerty. Pire, il semble que les majuscules ne marchent pas (et oui, j'ai utilisé un bon mot de passe quoi !).

Alors bon, on pourrait se dire, pas grave, j'écrase tout et c'est pas la fin du monde. Sauf que bizarrement, mon lecteur DVD n'est plus dans la liste du grub, donc impossible de démarrer mon installation ubuntu !

Bref, si quelqu'un a une idée je suis preneur...

@Tuttle : si tu cherches une idée pour tenter de faire fonctionner ton installation chiffrée, ce n'est pas dans cette discussion qu'il faut squatter : il faut ouvrir une nouvelle discussion dans le forum Sécurité où sont les spécialistes du chiffrement.
Si au contraire tu es résigné à tout écraser et à faire une installation toute neuve et que tu as besoin d'aide (comme ça semble être le cas), il faut ouvrir une nouvelle discussion dans la rubrique "Installation d'Ubuntu".
En tout cas, tu devrais créer une nouvelle discussion.
